there was once the most elaborate e30 m3 restoration thread on r3v maybe 7-8 years ago which I remember having great detail for the diff rebuild. Its so nice that EVERYTHING on a BMW is so well documented with multiple sources, so here’s the next best thing I have found.

I’ll be using that one, Thayer’s instructions and copious amounts of photos. @AsparagusMike just recently did his as well and has some photos.
this one has a helpful parts explosion and then turns into an ad for MM.

This may seem dumb but I finally found a usb charger that doesn’t look like a giant tumor with 6 bright LEDs sticking 8” off the console.

diff refresh parts are slowly rolling in as well. Hopefully have everything by Tuesday

I bought the exact same one a couple years ago for the same reasons. Still charges things. Since it only has one job, that's a win in my book.

Road America was a lot of fun. Surface was slick like usual since the repave.

My fastest run:
It was good seeing @AsparagusMike & @suspenceful out and about. Veggie mikes car sounds great as always and Spence’s ///m looks glorious

A dab of oversteer here and there. Did anyone spin?
Yes there were lots of spins and 6 or 7 cars broke on course. “self tech” due to the pandemic seems to be more hazardous for your health
-
What rear end are you running?
How close were you to using all of second on some of the straights?
3.25 with a ZF trans. Probably had another 700rpm to go before limiter is my guess

Wow I'm surprised they did a self-tech. That seems sketchy...
Tire/wheel fitment is awesome, looks great!

Was nice seeing/talking to you there! Great driving as always. I have some work to do...
Do you know if there will be photos from this RA event?

Probably, I think Austin was at the event.

Started pulling the diff, which turned into pulling the axles because I observed some weathered boots, flung grease and the axle stub bolts were coated in watery axle grease. Luckily I have enough GKN/EMPI repair kits to replace/repack every boot. It’ll be nice to check this off the list, car is getting closer to 99.9% “done”.
side note: cv grease sucks
