Installed some exhaust wrap on the exhaust where it passes underneath he lower control arm and rear axle boot. Trying to prevent cooking the rubber. I used exhaust wrap ($50), 2 4" hose clamps and some aluminum tape (to prevent the wrap from unraveling. We'll see how it turns out. [image: CC8F7397-ABB2-42CE-BC1F-BE424F854CF4\_zps]

You need to bring your own water, there really are no concessions or even vending machines around. While there are gas stations nearby you don't have a lot of time between sessions to get fuel.   Here's a full length session. someone said: School me on locking down the vanos please. The VANOS will develop a rattle...more annoying than potentially fatal. Most street cars will want to address this. BUT...there are a couple of issues which are potentially fatal to the engine 1. Exhaust hub tabs break - a Besian oil pump disk may help 2. Cam bolts strip and back out - replace with updated OE bolts 3. OEM belt tensioner breaks - replace with OE part 4. High pressure oil line to VANOS fails - replace with Bimmerworld line You can check #1 and #3 when you do a valve adjustment. #2 requires you to remove the VANOS. It a good group. I did autox with the SCCA and WAI folks from 2001-on until focusing more on track events. Also went to the first track day they had at the Mile a few years back and it's good to see the PDX series taking off. That dip in the first turn from the oval into the infield though was a front suspension killer. Never did get that right.

Did this once when they were first starting out. Good times! Schedule hasn't worked out for me since. The oval surface chews tires a bit but it's worth it.

I just had a driveshaft done at A-1 last week.  It's installed already but it's a project track car that has never run, so it may be a while before i can tell you how it is.  Looked good, nice guys, I'd go back unless I have some kind of catastrophic failure
