The ///M division, I was the first person in the museum because I had to catch my plane to go home, not sure if you are suppose to go up on the platform the cars are on but no one was around so I did haha.

    Cleaning my smileys

Got everything ready to be put back together when I noticed a bit of a problem. Broken subframe bolt 😢 Funny I didn't even notice it broke until I came back from vacation and was ready to put it all back together. The bolt stayed in the subframe when it came down.

I bought an extractor and tried to get the broken subframe bolt out but nothing would work. Soaked it in penetrating oil for 3 days, tried heating it with a torch, nothing... ended up drilling it out and retapping the hole. Put the subframe back on and the new bolt fit perfectly! Thank God! Such a relief seeing I had to drill it out with a hand drill.

Got the new smileys installed and the city lights all wired up after dealing with finding a break in the passengers side wiring.
    20140708152503zps0c8337f2.jpg

Got the new front driveshaft all welded and painted
    20140606102748zps13df1bf9.jpg

So after all the work I now have rebuilt front axles, new control arms with m3 offset bushings, motor mounts, power steering rack, pump, and reservoir, upper strut mounts, all new belts, euro smileys, German check panel, and new fluids in the front/rear diffs transmission, and transfer case. I also tracked down the broken wire for my oil level sensor so now I have no lights on the dash or check panel! yay :)

As a reward for all the work I went to a car show and found a 1957 Isetta! So cool!

Jelly! When I go to Germany I'm bringing back a shipping crate haha, I'd snag that euro M5 interior in a heartbeat. Glad to see the IX back on the road too.

I think I might order a revshift poly subframe, diff, and trailing arm bushing kit this weekend, 80a hardness... thoughts? I wonder if they could make me a transfer case bushing...

Power washed my engine bay and fried some relays :( been having some weird random rough idle and no start issues. Swapped in some spare e28 relays and it fixed the no start but I still get the occasional rough idle when I first start the car...

Damn! Good call! Went out and started it and when it started to stumble, I unplugged the TPS and it immediately shot back up to 900rmp. Can the TPS be adjusted or does it just need to be replaced? I do have a spare if needed.

Protip: you learned the lesson on using powerwashers on engine bays, its a no no. Spraying hot water after soaking in degreaser (mean green or equivalent) is best unless you have access to a steam cleaner.

It can be adjusted but the tb has to come off (no big deal)

It is a three position switch, idle, part throttle, full throttle. So the switch can be checked for proper adjustment with a continuity tester

Pulled the tb off but one of the mounting screws for the tps is stripped. Kinda annoying.

Installed the spare TPS and it still doesn't want to idle correctly. :( when I unplug the TPS the rpms jump up to 900 where it should be. With it plugged in they are at around 6-700... makes me sad.

Idle control valve may be suspect then since the TPS signals the idle control valve to run.

Forgot about the idle issue, it went away I think it just took some time for something to get dried out.. power washing engine bay - never again

Also someone at a car show I went to took this with a real camera.. I like!
