I would even think a piece of hose (or PVC pipe maybe) that has the same ID as the OD of the gauge. Slip it over the gauge up to the front. It could pinch the vent ribs between the gauge lip and the hose, applying even pressure hold around the entire gauge. Just a thought.

It is pretty tight in there after sanding the upper and lower to make the gauge fit. I might use some of that interior tar that I used to hold on the inner door plastic. Simple, black and I can remove it if I need to with ease.
Unless TCD aka "Captain Velcro" wants to share the knowledge.

- Received my VAC 12 to 14mm vanos bolt.
- Got the tiling done in the bathroom surround. Need to tile the floor, drop off the wet table saw and pick up my air compressor so I can blow out the head bolt threads in the block.
- Ready to finish my Megasquirt wiring. Need to figure out how to wire up the traction control still.

Got the air compressor...that's about it. Work has been busy with positive things!

Popped on the S54 oil filter housing and the power steering. Torqued everything down with loc-tite.
I cleaned out the threads in the block for the head bolts then I starting reading that people prep their block with a honing stone before they install the CES cut-ring head gasket. Should I do this? Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk@DrLeadFoot

I didn't know ECS made a gasket as well.
I am running a similar setup, and from what I was seeing most people that surface the block with a stone haven't had the block decked before. Like myself! -

I bought the same gasket, and also bought a copper spacer for my setup.
I did do the stone/sandpaper because mine had never been done. It actually worked pretty well.
In your case I would grab a straight bar and some feeler gauges and find out if anything is not straight. -

Sorting out a couple more ground wires then I should be all done with the dme side of the wiring harness.
Still need to wire up the new gauges and the GM IAT sensor.
Heat Sink'd the coil drivers.
Where I left it.

Going to make the temp sensor into a vacuum port or find a barb fitting at the hardware store.
Took a straight edge and a feeler gauge to the block at a bunch of different angles. This is the only spot that the .0015" feeler gauge found a gap. It has resistance but it still goes under the straight edge. The area in question is by the coolant port and is a little wider than the gauge. Thoughts?

Ben has something similar going on with his block as well.
I dont have the specs for a BMW handy but I believe .002" is the max. deviation for flatness on a typical cylinder head.
I wouldn't let it bother me if I were you. Nobody can say for sure that it will be fine/be a problem but if I were in your shoes i'd just forget about it and run with it.

That is kind of odd, it looks a lot like the imperfection that I have in mine!
With the material the HG is made out of I think it should be fine.
That doesn't extend to the cylinder does it? If not I wouldn't be too concerned about it. -

It does touch the cylinder wall. Honda Bond and call it a day?

Wiring up the traction control. Any pointers on which front ABS wire to tap into?
For the rear I'll use the vehicle speed sensor.
