I cut a 22mm wrench in half and used a another box wrench and piggy backed it. Those bolts are never fun!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Craftsman 22" wrench was all I had that fit.
Bought a ratchet wrench.....too big a head.
Everything in the front feels nice and tight after a test drive. Gonna get an alignment this week.
I knew I had a bad wheel bearing.....
Drivers side felt like gravel on disassembly.
After all the new bushings it's louder then ever!!
Gonna grab one this week.

New drivers side front wheel bearing installed yesterday.
Not a horrible job. Had to grab a 3' piece of gas pipe from the hardware store for a cheater bar.
Grabbed some weather tech universal floor mats today, $50 for the set.
Drained and filled the dif and have the fluid for the tranny next.
Found a sport steering wheel.....the seller has seen too many episodes of Pawn Stars!!!!
Should have it all ironed out this week.

Busy in Doormans world lately.
Got the trans fluid changed last weekend.
Sport steering wheel being delivered (in person.....no I WONT give you a reach around) late this week.
Did some wet sanding on the hood today.

Decided to only do the center section to learn
1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 grit wet
Huge difference after hitting it with my Harbor Freight DA and some Meg's ultimate compound.

M50 swap does look appealing though.
On the hunt for rims/tires, shocks, struts, springs and a few odds and ends.
Houndstooth (black/grey) fabric would be my "unicorn"!!

Do it. I have an m50 now. Currently tearing apart an s50. If you have a healthy m20 just boost it.
If not put, a sledge hammer through the intake manifold

M/S50 will be a bit down the road.
Picked up all the paperwork and some extra keys for the car yesterday. Some paperwork dates back to 1989!! PO spent more in 2013 in repairs to the car then I did buying the car from him. Looks like the odometer has been broke since 2007......500,000 miles could be a reality for this car.
Worked on wetsanding/paint correction on the trunk. The paint that was used on the passenger side appears to be a bit lighter and not as deep as the original paint.
Much better none the less.

Got home early today and USPS knocked on the door about ten minutes later.
Parts deliveries make a man feel all warm and giddy inside.......outside of normal middle aged gas, incontinence, etc.
Gonna give the old girl a well needed wash in the driveway and then install shiny parts!!

Stripped the rear end down for new wheel bearings.
Harbor Freight wheel bearing kit worked perfectly.
Couple issues/questions
Passenger side came off flawlessly.
Sometime in the past the drivers side half shaft was replaced.
All 6 bolts on the diff were stripped......probably used a 5/16 Allen instead of an 8mm to install the shaft. Bought an Irwin stripped bolt removal set. Well worth the $30!!
Drivers side splines are a bit rough......took quite a bit of work to push it outta the hub.
Any opinions on rebuilt/rebooting shafts?
I've done some looking around and most info points to auto parts store shafts being crap.

2 new CV axles ordered from AutoZone.
I called a few shops around Chicago and nobody rebuilds anymore. The guys I talked to said the quality of the axles from the parts stores has gotten better over the years and that's where they get theirs.

All the parts are finally installed!!
Finished up the power steering reservoir and hoses earlier today.
I still have a bit if "whine" from I think the rear end. A bit of research says it could be the diff.
The car does have over 300,000 miles on her.
Any other guesses?
