You own a mechanic shop right?

You really need to work on your delivery/interpersonal skills.

4 moths and 4 days to get my car running. Challenge accepted.

    Weekend Update:

Subframe spacers added to the E30 for proper alignment. (shiny things on the bottom right and left)

    15266698110eeba25de28z.jpgimage

Motor and trans pulled from the E39. I spent a ton of time removing and labeling wires so I can properly reassemble without headache.

    1545340407596702327a3z.jpgimage

    And separated.

    154303367067f740163b3z.jpgimage

    I still need to:

Pull the E30 driveshaft and get the front end of the E39 one welded on.

Pull the rest of the harness out of the E39 and remove the unnecessary wires.

    Clean the motor

    Clean the E30 bay

Put the new motor mounts on

    Weld the trans mount

    Mount the brake booster

Wire, wire, wire, wire and wire some more.

Car is running like a top.

Need 15 minutes of the girlfriend's time to bleed the brakes and then she is road ready. Hopefully I can get some better videos this time.

Something weird is going in with my (non existent) idler. Apparently there were two designs for the M62, but I knew upon install something was wrong with my setup. I have one in the mail that makes more sense, in my head at least.

Interior is getting there good though.

    Here is your statement:

Wait so you installed a new clutch and pressure plate or clutch disc? If you did a whole new clutch and pressure plate you need to run through the clutch break in procedure and clutch wear point test plan as well. If you did just a clutch disc then they clutch plate would need to be reset as with all e46s its a self adjusting clutch so you need to special tool to turb back the springs when isntalling. Eitherway unfortunately this is what happens in the enthusiast world when guys think they can work on it all themselves on vehicles/systems they know nothing about. Hate to see it but I see it often.

Here is what you could have said:

Say what you want, but if want more business don't treat people (potential customers) like morons, whether you think they are or not. I for one wouldn't come to your shop or recommend you regardless of your pricing, quality, or turn around.

Pulled an all nighter Friday and got the motor harness all hooked up and some more work on the exhaust.

I have most of the wires identified and know where they need to go and think I have the EWS figured out as well.

Probably 10 hours from firing, but still have a lot of driveability stuff to do (finish brakes, clutch line, cooling, etc)

    Yeeep.

A little trial and error and boom.

Now all the little wires, straighten up some of the routings, bleed the brakes/clutch and give it some abuse on Sunday.

I'd love to go, but am making a ton of progress on the wiring and am going to spend all day tomorrow working on it.

Next time there is a meet up in Milwaukee someone PM me.

Looks like its got an intact c-pillar. Anyone doing a full steel bodywork conversion could use that, anyone trying to rebuild that is crazy

ding ding ding - The C pillar alone goes for $5000-$7000
