Whatever works man! I live in green lake. Shipping works? Or you can pick it up. I'm very busy as of recent.
WAIT. I actually live in Princeton wi now.

Bearings ordered. BOOM!! well, hopefully not this time around.
I wish making this car reliable was as easy as ordering parts.
Everything I need is here or on its way this week to get this bolted back up ASAP the right way this time around.
Now for some thinking out loud:
I have been debating on going to a softer engine/trans mount to combat the vibes. The vibes are both good and bad. Good for me, bad for the bimmer.
If I go MS3 I would use the S52 timing pickup that is in the engine block to reduce the rotating mass of the OBD 1 harmonic balancer timing pickup.
Some properly offseted wheels to accommodate a lot of rubber so I'm gripping instead of bouncing the motor of the rev limiter every time acceleration is extreme. If you know my name this is almost every time the right foot is on that GO pedal. I will be borderline living underneath the rear suspension and in the trunk, watching for cracks and signs of stress, once there are bigger tires on there. Hopefully the girlfriend will want to join me.
There are more thoughts but the motor needs to be in the front of my mind.

What is your fuel cut set to with the TRM tune?

Anyone have a Bentley manual and can look up what the spec is for the gap between the rod bearings and the journal is? Going to plastic gauge them soon.
-
Thank you!
-
Is it .008-.023?
.0008 seems really tight and plastic gauge doesn't go that small.
-
A sheet of paper is ~0.003" thick to have something from the real world you can relate to
Pete McHenry suggests ".0020"-.0025", with half a thousandth looser on the rear main"
per this post here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?775356-Main-Bearing-Clearances

Plastic gauge day!
Wet sanded the #1 journal with this new-ish 3M paper that is equal to 1200 grit and 5w-30 to get rid of the slight scratch that I could feel with my finger.

A little Vaseline to hold it in place.

Got this bad boy dialed in to 25ft/lbs and 55 degrees.

Looks to be .001!! Thank god
