E30 Radiator Support Removal

I've veen considering making my radiator support removable. Has anyone done this or know of any good write ups out there? I've looked but cannot find a good how to and would rather not cut and pray.

A few guys on here have done it. You essentially remove yours with a spot weld drill bit and then bolt it back on when you're done.

Yeah, I get the concept. I am mainly looking for an in depth how to that shows each spot where it is welded.

The spot welds are freaking everywhere, and there are a bunch that are hard to get to. I ended up cutting mine out not so nicely because mine was a bit too rusty to want to put back in.

I personally would seperate the top section(where the headlights hold on to or whatever, and build a lower support for the radiator. So, you can pull the front end off without having the radiator come off every time as well.

I don't quite see the point of doing it that way. I figured they were made removable to pull engines easier, and you need the radiator out to do so. Maybe I am missing something g.

I like to take the front end off for easier access to things on the front of the engine, when you don't need to flush the cooling system and such. You could make it come off with a couple of pins, so it would be uber quick on the track to do some fixin' without absolutely having to take the radiator off every time. But, when you want to, its just a bolt or two, and a couple hoses to do so.

Its a ford 9" e30 with a borg warner turbo and e85 and a t56, I bet you can find it on google
