So, slowly I'm acquiring more parts. This past weekend I made my wiring harness adapter.
And with a trip to the junkyard i started to pull the 318ti rear trailing arms. The junkyard closed before i could get them both off.ย
Also got my e36 steering rack bushing kit from AKG Motorsport today.

So I took off that rubber may that is on the fire wall and where ever there was a stud on the passenger side firewall it was rusted out pretty bad around them. So if anyone has A junk parts car that the firewall is still fine and is willing to cut it apart let me know. Just trying to find one before I just get steel from work and fix it from scratch.

Here are some better pictures of the rust on the firewall.
There is two rust hole in the floor pans of the car. One being right where your heel would be in front of the gas pedal and the other being right next to a plug in the floor on the passenger side.
And I picked up some e36 front struts yesterday. I got them in and test fitted one of the rs's.

I'm cutting that whole section out of a car at gibsons. It shouldn't be very bad to fix. It looked pretty easy to get to from the inside of the car.

Just a little update..ย
I sandblasted the rear sub frame, trailing arms, and rear calipers and carriers.ย
Got the rear calipers and carriers powder coated gloss black. They were powder coated at Naylors' custom metal cutting.
ย I'm going to be getting the sub frame and trailing arms powder coated matte black. These will be done at my work.
As for the rust situation, I made the battery tray piece out of 16 gauge steel and got a flat piece of 16 gauge to fix the rest.

Looks nice, what media are you using for blasting?ย I have used 80 grit glass bead which worked fantastic but is expensive.ย Lately I have been using some stuff called black blast, not sure what it is but it is a little more aggressive than the bead but much cheaper 7.50/50lb.ย I am working outside so about 25% seems to get lost in the wind lol.

I used naylors custom metal cuttings sand blast booth. He rents it out. I don't know much about what his setup is.

It's always nice to have a big air compressors. Haha.

Took my trailing arms, subframe, and front brake calipers and carriers to get powder coated.

What type of heat source/oven did you use for those big parts
I didn't do it myself. But I seen the guys setup. It's a big walk-in oven that he can put 3-4 racks of whatever in to.

Picked up a parts car today. The reason i bought it was to get misc exterior and interior stuff. Got to the place and found that it had an mtech 1 steering wheel and acs pedal set!
