Saw this add on craigslist and immediately jumped in the car. Let me know how I did, here's my haul:
s52 complete bottom end, exhaust manifolds w/o2 sensors, and valve cover- $250
i intake manifold - $20
hid kit - $10
m20 i head - $40
4 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec - $60
Total investment - $380
By the time I got there the dash, race springs, e engine, 1 i engine and the seats were sold to people who paid him through paypal. lol cheaters I was the first one there :[

maybe I already have a s52 crank for that haha, I kinda want to take the rods out of it but the BMW gods may forsaken me for disassembling a perfectly good bottom end just for the rods lol

lol I bought an m20 i head and s52 bottom end... s52 12 valve swap FTW!!!!!!

We'll see, I want to put it on an engine stand, pull the oil pan and see how a few crank and rod journals look compared to the crank I have. I more or less bought the s52 stuff as a financial investment so I guess if the price is right.

Yeah it look pretty nice. It had me worried when I tried to drain the fluid out it was dry 0.o but then I realized the axles have been out for a year letting it all drain out.

I'm adding two extra spider gears so I need a part made to support the ends of the shaft for the extra spider gears. This might help, imagine two more small gears perpendicular to the ones in this picture.

The two spider gears in the front diff like to explode with more than 3-400ftlb of torque. This will hopefully solve that problem. A guy in Finland with an 800hp ix did something like this and it worked pretty well.

This is a video of it from 2010 with the stock front diff I believe, he went through like 5 front diffs before he reinforced one like this.

Sooooooo... last week I accepted a job offer in Sussex with Rotating Equipment Repair... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in Milwaukee yesterday looking for an apartment and found one I really like with an attached heated garage (was the deal maker) in the Broadway Commons apartments southeast edge of Waukesha. I start October 13 but the apartment wont be available until the 15th so I'll have to stay at a friends house for a few days then my parents will bring a uhaul with all my stuff from Minnesota on the weekend. very exciting
