My point is, that if it is connected to the exhaust it is not a vacuum.  If it was then air would be going the wrong way through your exhaust system.  It may be a convenient way to get rid of the crankcase venting but it is not a vacuum.

fluid moving past an orifice CAN produce a vacuum as molecules get dragged into the airstream. I believe the Dr said it had a check valve to keep from going the wrong direction when I was picking his brain on the matter.

Ahh, if it is a venturi device then that makes sense.  That didn't occur to me.  I would be curious to see with a gauge or manometer tube to see how much vacuum it produces at different engine speeds/loads.

            Got the crank sprocket off.

is it a dual row chain for the cams, or is that sprocket strictly only for the oil pump?

One row is for the pump the other for the timing.

I'm glad I noticed these rounded off teeth. Worse than expected.

Is that normal tooth wear for those? or did something cause it to wear more severely?

Not normal at all. The chain flopping around when the pump snapped had to round them off.

Does anyone have a TDC flywheel locking pin?  Or could make one?

I will be making my own camshaft lock tool:

This is soo ghetto. hahaha. Why do this when you can go to concours and ask todd or burger to borrow them for the weekend or such. Not like they use them at the dealer everyday.

I will be getting the VAC harmonic dampener. I tried to order it today but they didn't have time to process my order. I called twice. Great products, phones... not so much.

The headache is worth the outcome! I got a taste of the power and it is addicting. The only car that got me was that fox body 5.0 that was turbocharged and probably built. He got the jump on me and still didn't pull more than one car on me. Soon. Soon.
