I might step it up to a 16, but I feel like keeping them smaller would be lots cheaper for tires, and when you drift, you definitely use tires.

Just an FYI, if you're going to drift, go to a junkyard like gibsons in neenah, buy their shitty used tires, for $10 a pop. or buy new starfires. Those will last you plenty of drift days. Starfires last for eva

I think 16" tires are cheaper than 15"...

Really? I feel like 15 inch is more common right? Wouldn't I find more 15" tires off like Hondas as a junk yard?

It's a toss up. 16" tires NEW are cheaper, in like a 195/55/16, but if you want cheap an shitty, to destroy on drift days/back road fun, go 15's.

For drifting? well, wait till you get your rims. Because that'll really depend on what you want, especially if you're gunna go low, you're gunna have to stretch your tires, due to cambering in.

I'm thinking any cheap light 15x8 et 0 rims. Definitely stretching the shit out of them. Most civics are like 6.5 rims, so I'll be using like a 195 or 185 or something. I can't figure out what rims I want yet. Suggestions?

et0? You can't just throw out offsets. from what I recall E30's have a factory high offset, so you're going to mexipoke like a mexicano.

XXR and ESM seem to be the best style+fitment per dollar wheels you can get new.

I still need to sit down sometime and figure out the best size of wheel + tire that allows for best tire availability and cost/performance ratio for track tires. I will probably do something close to 16x8 or 17x8 with summer tires for daily use. Either way, the wheels need to be light and strong. The Kosei K1 and TRM C1 wheels seem to be budget lightweight track wheel if light weight is important to you.

US factory offset E30's came with lowest offset of +30. averaging +33/40 offset. So +0 offset will be a stretch. but go for it. Hell, I can't really talk, I'm looking for 16/17x10 +5 offset wheels...

Stretch indeed! I would love to fit some 16x10's or something close to that, but I don't think I need that kind of grip for drifting yet.. Wheels are definitely reasonable now a days.

Wheels like xxr's aren't expensive at all, and I honestly don't care about brand names. I just want an okay look and light.

Grip for drifting? Contradicting statement is contradicting. My spares are all 15x7 or 15x6 with whatever wheels up front. Sliding 10" wide wheels would be a bitch. Also the amount of understeer from such a wide wheel in back would be crazy. I'd stay away from wide rear wheels for drifting, but to each their own :) Unless you'll have boost. Then go for it lol

He's boosting. But ironically, drifting is all about grip. Grip is a huge factor.
