The bolts that hold the pump itself together? Or that hold the pump to the engine? Either way they were all tight.

I think I'll be doing an oil change after the first 50 miles just to try and get any left over pieces out, or at least a filter change.

I've had them both loosen on the m60b30's. One motor had 3 pump case bolts out and several loose and the other had one mounting boot out.

I'd locktight them all when you put the pump back in so you don't have to worry about it later.

Ah alright, I was thinking of disassembling it and cleaning it, I'll add some loctite when I go back together.

Yes loctite the bolts that hold the pump together.  I worked on one that had a bolt in the bottom of the pan and the rest were finger tight.  That was a '93, maybe they solved the problem later on?

True, that nice weather we had was killing me.

New left, right, and center tie rods, sway bar bushings, trans and motor mounts, shifter bushing, and z3 short shifter are all installed. Sub frame is back up, pretty much just have to put the fan/belts and the radiator back in. :DD

Forgot to message you. We'll see, I want to make sure engine doesn't explode before I say I'll work on someone else's lol. I like to think I know what I'm doing, there are a bunch of nuclear and fossil power plants running at 100% because of my wrenching/engineering, but this is my first time dealing with anything with more than 1 cam haha.

Sounds good.  Car isn't going anywhere....not even sure how bad it is.  With 130K, could be needing some love.

That's not a typical bmw wheel lock. I've got a set of wheel lock removal sockets if you need them.

I'll check my supply and see if I have one that matches.

I'm afraid I don't have the key if the bolt size is 17mm

Well I took it for a drive yesterday and right away it was misfiring really bad under load. I drove straight to kwik trip to get some fresh gas, talking with the PO the gas was probably well over a year old. Fresh gas helped a lot but it went into limp mode and still misses under load. I'm pretty sure I fouled the plugs, but any other ideas? I ran the codes and it had the same ones as before I started working on it. Secondary air pump, coolant temp, and bank one over retarded. Coolant temp I'm sure was just the sensor, and over retarded was the lack of timing chain guide. I'm thinking plugs because just cruzing it's fine only under load is it missing, but maybe it's the injectors?

                                        Excitement: it's running!

                                        Disappointment: something isnt right.

Did it run like this before all the work?

Not that I know of but I didn't really get on it like I was yesterday. I'm going to pull the plugs and see what they look like. Maybe the coils are bad? Shouldn't I be getting some codes from it going into limp mode?
