Shave? Eh. I'm just getting rid of the un used factory brackets. a tuck? Not really, tucks are stupid. I'm just making the engine bay look more representable. The drivers side of an E28 is a traffic jam of hoses and wires.

Wrong, a tuck is "TUCKING" the wires behind, in and or under something. I'm just rerouting them in the engine bay to not have a mixed not of coolant hoses, brake lines, power steering lines, and wires all twisted around each other like they came from the factory....

Pulling my head apart soon to enlarge the ports, as well as a port an polish, then getting errything hottanked!

A mild tuck would consist of rerouting wires and making them look more appealing. Making them disappear is a full tuck.

Got the engine torn down a bit more yesterday before work. Coming along slowly, but I got all the time in the world.

I also cut off the rusted rear muffler because I was afraid it'd fall off on the highway an explode into a rust bomb. This is what was left:

This is also the car I picked up off Jawa for a good price. Yay winter beater!

Did a little work on the daily, the rear muffler was a bit rotted out, decided to remove it, didn't realize just how bad it was...:

Started tearing the motor down to a bare block to get it ready for hot tanking, primer, and paint.

This motor was rusty an crusty on the outside. But a bit of wire wheel action, and a bit of sand blasting will get this thing looking minty as ever!

Cylinder walls had no scoring, no ridging, so that's good!

Pistons looked pretty good for the miles as well!

The crank looks to be nice as well. It has no scoring, no scratches, etc. So I'm all around pretty happy!

An this is how I left it. No sleep with a work in a few hours, I needed some rest!

I used cast blast paint on the m20 I built, color looks like fresh blasted cast, not sure how it holds up but the guy who looked did my block work recommended it.

Mine isnt vht. It is a very metallic duplicolor engine enamel. Doesnt look as shiny in that picture as others

Possibly. I like the SR20's color better. really pops. Which is nice, considering 90% of the M30 block is masked by a gallon sized starter, and a stupid as fuck intake design. SO the bits that will show, will look like a sex machine in the shadows.

How many miles were on it?  Just curious, the M20 in the picture had somewhere over 280k and still had no ridge , only about .003 wear towards the bottom.  The shop I had inspect, tank, and hone it was very impressed, he said a 350 chevy will have a big ridge at 150k lol.  And the m52 I did had 215k and the crosshatching was still there.  I don't have a good pic of the M20 but this is the M52.  And both of these had overheated from a cracked head.
