I'm not trying to be rude but I wouldn't buy it for $2000 knowing what's happened to it.  Now if you had driven it 5k miles since then without problems then my concern would be much lower. Totally understandable. I put a few miles on it before it started to snow and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. But Ill do some more driving with it to see if anything is out of the ordinary. If worst comes to worst ill part it out. Ideally i wouldn't because I have a few cars coming my way but I gotta do what I gotta do. m42b32 said: Might be a good idea to get 3-5k on it and do a Blackstone labs oil analysis, that would likely tell you if there is any excessive wear going on.  Ill probably be doing that.

I should be picking up this car's replacement later this week, so this will be going up for sale shortly. I'll post more about the replacement when I have it in hand, but it is a BMW.

I personally have never owned one, but I know a ton of people that have, some are not even big BMW guys. All in all, I have always heard good things about them, followed by the good ol' "man I should have never sold that car"

use the bearing opening in the trailing arm (or the existing bearing if its still in place) to figure this out. the 1.8 has a smaller bearing. z3 2.5 6cyl - Angular ball bearing 42mm x 75mm x 37mm z3 1.8 4cyl / 318ti - Angular ball bearing 39mm x 72mm x 37mm (inside diameter x outside diameter x depth)

patsbimmer1 said: it's nice to see a rust free e36!  Are you sure the odo was rolled back?  Carfax isn't always 100% reliable as far as mileage reporting since they rely on the individual shops to report.  It could have been fat fingered at a shop and reported incorrectly.  Are there any other indications on the report that that's what happened? Yeah, if you look through the report the car was very well maintained, and the mileage slowly climbs up after it was rolled back. 100% sure

Over due non-update from over a month ago. I attempted pulling the injectors but was reminded that the engine harness was in poor condition and ended up breaking a coolant sensor. It was wired without a oem plug and the connections broke off the sensor itself  The car is buried in storage now. [image: 3C7AFC5A-E3E0-4499-8246-20DE8CD3FB8B.jpeg]

It's first snowfall. Not bad at all with the Continental DWS06 all seasons. I have some Pirelli Scorpion snow tires that I'll swap on this weekend. [image: 45796772421\_97c4569689\_c.jpg]

suspenceful said: Nice! You've cut a better 60' than I ever have on my car with drag radials, lol. It's not me.  It's the car.  I only have one better and one close on slicks.  e34 did a 1.58 and e28 did a 1.65  Both manual cars. I have zero interest in a single turbo.  I wouldn't want to touch the drivability.

Updates: track repairs after brake failure are done. I bought standard (see: non-competition) caliper carriers so that I could fit my PFC rotors, since nobody in the E46 world actually uses the ZCP brakes. New calipers, stainless lines, new wheel bearings, all was well.  Then came my Blackstone analysis. Rod bearings completely toasted [image: IMG\_9737.jpg] So now I have new rod bearings. As luck would have it, when I went to test drive the car after bearing install, my cooling system started to take a shit. Temp needle quickly started to peg at the 3/4 mark and discovered my fan was dead. I took this as an opportunity to replace the radiator, water pump/tstat, and have an electric fan wired in to get rid of the factory mechanical fan.  I took the car in to my body shop today for an estimate on both patching up the dings/dents, and repainting the entire car. I am for sure going to repair the dents that were on the car when I bought it, but I am still up in the air on repainting it and throwing on a CSL front bumper shroud. I dunno. I love driving the car on the street and like having a full interior despite some track-oriented suspension. It would be nice to clean the car up a bit more and make it more presentable since I think I'm going to be driving it more than just only on track days. Still noodling on that one.

@Earl @SteelBlue I am not a huge fan of the pre face lift because of the body lines. I like the small kidneys but the hood lines are too narrow and my favorite brake duct valance wouldn't work at all.

wasnt m3 said: Truck, no. I will say though, that you can tow much more than people give credit. I pulled a 5k lb loaded trailer with my x3 over 300 miles with no issue. I looked up some specs on Jake's X5 and was impressed to see some of the numbers. It weighs more than a modern mid size truck, it has the same towing capacity as a modern mid sized truck, along with the same payload capacity. I was fairly surprised to see such large numbers from it. I can't imagine towing 6500lbs with a 3 liter would be fun though!

Subframe bushings, Doing anything with the pedals (manual swap), oil pan gasket replacement (in car), and steering rack replacement with engine in place. these are my least favorite jobs on an E30.   Life gets better!
