BMW lists several special service tools but if you use your imagination you can create them. You will need a bearing splitter and something to press the gear train out of the input shaft bearing. Thats all that comes to mind right now

Is anybody near Milwaukee who has the ability to code a new light control module for my e46? If seen coders in fox valley and Madison just looking for somebody a little closer to home.

I'd be interested in hearing how much something like that goes for.  I took the winter and did this myself...  BIG project.

Welcome aboard.  Get yourself into an older Bimmer. They are priced reasonably, easy to work on and parts are easy to get.
