Only thing I have seen is grinding the concrete with floor sander that has diamond scuff abrasive on it. This will prep it for the new coating.

Well finishing the car as is currently would be what I'd do. In addition: *M51 swap (fully rebuilt, repaint it all, and change out all of the external hardware) *Alpina VDO Gauges *Non-Airbag Dash *Parcel shelf w/ rearblind *New door, hatch, and windshield glass

As Snap said reliability is the key. Granted wrenching is fun but it's no fun if the car is breaking down on you especially if you've paid for track time.

If you can't find anybody, coachworx would be the shop to take it too. It's run by a couple Volvo guys.

Most likely valve guides will need to be replaced, and at least checked, cut the valve seats, resurface it, check the springs and retainers as well as the lifters.

It's not the best looking car from that time period but the Mclaren F1 has always been my bedroom poster because of what they achieved with that car from an engineering standpoint.   Fun fact:  Most of the Mclaren F1 GTRs were converted to road use after being disqualified from international racing.

Sounds like a plan! I will keep that in mind for the spring/summer
