I like the idea of Cars and Coffee. Starbucks Sunday 10 am weekly. There could be as many locations as needed to cover the area. We could then post pics on Monday. It would get us closer without traveling. Just an idea.

Cosmos ResurrectionPlans have changed. I am taking my M30 and 5 speed out of my 533 and running the seta this winter. I figure it will be plug and play since the pedals are in it and the car had a M30. I plan on bringing this car to the party next month

1987 325e Power options?$4000 budget should do it.
I had the pleasure to meet Todd from TDC a little over a week ago and I expressed my interest in turbos. The above cost is exactly what Todd said it would cost with engine, suspension and drive train related items that would need to be replaced/upgraded to handle the boost. It's not a poor man's hobby but sure is a fun one!

Official-look-what-i-found-thread (craigslist, other-forums, etc)It also says the 540i needs new timing belts... it has a chain. I think the m20 was the last BMW engine to use a belt.
To the best of my knowledge it is the only BMW car with a timing belt.

E39 Key Button DIYI purchase a set of these to replace my worn out buttons.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261201404201
I popped off the rear cover to reveal 2 screws. I removed both screws.
Remove board as shown.
Start removing old buttons. Use caution and work slowly.
I broke a few tabs but all is good. Again use caution.
I cut off the fake led light as my key had a real one.
I needed to cut a corner off the lock button to clear the chip.
The chip had some adhesive holding it down preventing it from rattling. I used a dab of shoe goo to hold it in place.
Put it all back together with a new battery and all it good.
If replacing battery, you have 30 seconds to get the new battery in once the old is out. It took me about 3 seconds so it should not be a problem. If battery is out for longer you will have to re-initialize the key.

SundayHappy Easter everyone.
Enjoy the warm weather. I heard on the weather this morning that it has not been 70 in Brew City since October 11th. It's been one heck of a winter!

Post your winter beaters/winter bimmersApril 2010, a tornado "Slammed" my eta
This pic is after we cut all the crap off of it.
I bought this as a replacement. Nice car but it was too small for me.
My eta still ran and drove good so I decided to repair the rear window.
It does not look too bad if you ask me. In the daylight if I don't point it out many people don't even notice. Note: the plastic protection barrier is still on. I don't have a pic with it peeled off but it does look good. It cost me $30 to fix and some time.
This is my winter beater.....I may part it out in spring....depends on how well it survives the salt beating.
This is what I hope to store this winter if the beater keeps running.
Thanks for looking

BMW CCA E30 Picnic May 10, 2014 WaukeshaI was not sure I was going to be able to make this. I developed a severe knocking on acceleration on Thursday. I thought it was coming from the right front but my dad said it was coming from the right rear. Well I got the car up on 4 jack stands and tried to find the issue. All front suspension excluding struts was replaced last summer. All steering components replaced at the same time with new tires and an alignment. All looks good.
What I found was a axle that I could move up/down and in/out with no effort (1 inch). “Here is my problem” I said to myself.
Mr. Young came to the rescue with an extra one he “had laying around”. Thank you Chris J
I replaced the axle and took her for a ride. To my dismay I still had a knock but it sounded much different. Almost sounds like a front sway bar that is bad. I had lost a sway bar bracket and stole one from my eta a few weeks ago. I am thinking that it may be a different size (without checking part numbers, I have no time now) as the 533 and not compressed enough and cause a knocking like what I am hearing.
I don’t care anymore. It’s late, I am hungry, and tired. I am going to make it tomorrow. I will just baby it.
See you all there!

Freeway MPGWHAT??? How? The best i can pull outta the 528e is 27mpg the e46 gets 32mpg hwy and my van gets 22.5 average and the cherokee (when it ran properly before my sister fucked the 4.0) got 20mpg with a 4" lift!

The official WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR BMW thread.Sold my 328i today... it was a sad day but I could tell the guy that bought it was truly thrilled after he drove it.
Now you have some wiggle room for new projects ?
.I only sold one BMW that I owned and that was a 94 325i sedan. I really liked the car but it was TOO small. I always felt cramped. It was great in all other regards and a blast to drive. It was in that car that I received my only speeding ticket in the last 15 years. I remember doing 55 and downshifting and rev matching into third and "Holy Crap" did that thing pull. I do miss it for that reason alone. I have a sweet spot for my E28's. I guess I am getting old but still have some class
