Well I haven't posted on here in a while.... but I did actually start working on this project over the summer!

I moved into a new house last spring with a nice big garage and I finally have a space to keep this at home which is very exciting. The new plan for it will be to swap the M54 drivetrain from my coupe into this and have a fun street car/summer daily that is more of a comfortable cruiser.

This car has been sitting in the barn at the family farm for nearly a decade and unfortunately mice got into it and ruined everything in the interior. I ended up spending a day or two gutting the interior and tossed pretty much everything. Thankfully I have a ton of interior parts from the silver sedan I took apart ages ago. The two big items I am missing at the moment are carpet and the HVAC box, so if anyone has a lead on those bits feel free to pass it along!

Last August my steering rack seals finally fully gave out and I had to park the car. It is still broken, but I did manage to find another low mileage Z3 rack to swap in, just need some time to do it. The other very important thing I managed to accomplish is swap the random rusty screws holding the center caps on my wheels with a set of NOS O.Z. center cap security screws. Yay!

Oh also I picked up a new side project that will eventually find its way into this car...

That is a great find! I love the purple. Retro MTB paint jobs are the best. 

Ive been playing with bikes a lot lately. I finally built myself a 20" BMX after not having one since my early teens. Its a ton of fun on the pump tracks in 'Tosa and Brown Deer.

Picked up a set of wheels I've been casually on the lookout for forever: OZ Fittipaldi Fittistars! Specs are 16x7 et22 and tires are Falken RT615k+'s in 215/45r16 that are pretty tired but workable for now. I'll need to roll the rear quarters a bit more as they rub on bigger compressions but loving the look and fitment. Short term goal is to refinish the RS's while these are on the car. Long term I'm thinking rebuild these to 15x8" (the factory lips/barrels are double step) and paint the faces because the original diamond cut finish makes them sort of look like boat trailer wheels (thanks for that @wasnt m3, now I can't unsee it haha).

Sounds like an awesome trip, looking forward to photos! I'd love to take a trip like that in my e30, maybe next year...

Saddle is one of the best e90 interiors in my opinion, looks great with the black!

Got lucky on ebay a few weeks ago and scored something I've wanted for this car since the day I bought it, an e30 Mtech 1 spoiler! The rubber is in extremely good shape and the insert is conveniently already white!

I noticed that recently too, I dont know enough about that stuff to know what causes that...

This car just looks right with a canoe on the roof!

Thanks! Yeah I was excited to find those on the fork when I picked up the frame, that basically made the decision for me to put a front rack on it.
