I used to be in scouts and found some of the badges I collected when I went to the National Jamboree in 2010. I thought you guys might be interested in the BMW patch set from a South Carolina council near one of their manufacturing plants. This was my favorite set I got while I was there.

I just put the 93 octane in this morning and it doesn't seem to make a difference. It might delay the sound a little bit but it's hard to tell. I do normally run 91 octane though so is it possible the 93 isn't a big enough change to make the engine change?

I never thought of the driveshaft actually. The sound seems to be coming from the passenger footwell so I figured either an axle or the engine. When I put the driveshaft in last summer I made sure I lubed it correctly, hopefully that's not the case but I'll check into it.

The last few weeks Ive been trying to track down a knocking noise under acceleration in my 89 325ix. It sounds like a knock/pop sound that will happen a few times per second while on the throttle when I accelerate hard at any point in the rev range. When I go in deep snow as soon as I lose momentum I get the same noise and have power loss. Without pushing the car it drives and sounds normal. No idle issues. 

From what Ive found online Im assuming its either a spark problem or possibly air/fuel issues. I changed all the plugs yesterday and they all looked fine, and all matched. The distributor was replaced 8 months ago, and they plug wires not long before that. I checked them all anyway and everything looks fine. At this point Im going to check where the plug wires go into the distributor for cracks, and change the fuel filter. After that the only thing I can think to check is injectors.

Basically I wanted to know if anyone has personally had this issue, or any advice on things to look for. I think Im on the right track, but engine knocks scare me and Id like to get this resolved as quick as possible.

No AAA, but we have a route planned out through SD to the badlands and then south we plan to follow with plenty of scenery stops on the way.

I have a few extra belts, some fluids, and a box of tools, but I'm hoping none of that will be necessary. I've spent the last few weeks getting the car ready for mountain roads.

We're looking to go further west for some mountain biking, not sure how far, but I'll definitely have to check out this peak to peak highway. My buddy just got a GroPro so hopefully I can get some cool driving clips together when we get back.

I'm leaving on Sunday for 10 days on a trip to Colorado and New Mexico.

We will be driving through to the bad lands Sunday night, and then finish the trip to Denver Monday.

I'm looking for suggestions of things to do in the area, especially outside things and GOOD DRIVING ROADS. Most of our time will be in Denver and Colorado Springs. We're planning to do some disc golfing, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and check out some of the National Monuments.

If anyone has spent time there and has things that are worth seeing please share some details. We have no reservations and plan to figure it out as we go! Hopefully the e30 will make the trip there and back ok

Is there a difference between seat belts in coupes and sedans? My sedan has sport seats swapped in and the seat belts are anchored under the rear seat bolt, but the bracket is all bent and hammered. I need new belts, so what exactly do I need for it to fit in there correctly?

Yeah I did. I ended up picking up a driveshaft, transmission, and transfer case with just over 100k on them, all for $200  the driveshaft is in now and I will be swapping in the transfer case and transmission as soon as I get a break from school.

Not much has changed lately, just trying to get a lot of little things sorted out before winter comes. A few weeks ago I thoroughly washed, clay barred, polished, and put 2 coats of wax on the car. The before/after transformation of the paint was amazing, a lot of the shine came back and the paint is amazingly smooth. I spend nearly 5 hours on everything but it was well worth the effort. Its difficult to show in pictures but here are some anyway, not too bad for the original paint. 

I also came across some E36s is a scrapyard here last week and decided to try the E36 window switch conversion. It ended up costing me about $15 in switches and bezels and took about an hour to solder. I'm pretty happy with how they look in the car and they're so much better to use than the factory ones. 

I'll be there in the iX at some point. I'll keep my eyes peeled for other BMWs, last time I think I only saw 1 or 2. Unacceptable!

Euro 1984 528. Its automatic, but my limited knowledge tells me the bumpers are probably worth close to the $500 asking price.
