bigger wheels means it's time to drop it down a bit more.

Looking good Tom. A little lower will help it a lot. I've got that fender roller if you need to use it.

Thanks! The coupe is a much nicer car. This was shipped over to WI from California about 8 years ago, and it has never seen snow. 100% rust free... which is quite the change from the wagon.

I'm excited to get going on this one. I love the 2 doors, and was really lucky to get my hands on this one.

Yep! It'll get pretty much everything from the wagon. In a couple years I'd really like to put a worked over m50/52 in it and cram some air in it. Volvo redblocks are pretty capable little tractor motors that can provide a lot of fun at minimal expense, but I really love pretty much everything about the bmw inline 6s.

                          Here are a few pictures:

Yep! Some of the different years have a few spot welds to drill out, but on this car I just unbolted everything.

More pictures. 50ft2 roll of Fat Mat Rattle Trap, and 100ft2 roll of Mass Loaded Vinyl showed up.

More progress this weekend. Copied and pasted from my project thread.

Measured and cut out the strut tower opening to make room for camber plate adjustment.

                                  IMG3757.JPG

                                  IMG3775.JPG

                                  IMG3770.JPG

Finally wrapped up the prep and sprayed the engine bay with Spray Max 2K epoxy primer. For an aerosol can, this stuff is pretty great.

                                  IMG3788.JPG

                                  IMG3785.JPG

                                  IMG3806.JPG

Then I pulled the dash out of the wagon. This is in way worse condition than I realized. Not sure what I'll end up doing with this.

                                  IMG3826.JPG

                                  IMG3824.JPG

I'll be using some of the blue interior trim from the wagon for this car, so I tried out Duplicolor interior paint. Seems to be pretty good.

Been working quite a bit on this, but not much to show for it.

The engine bay is finally done, save for a little wax.

                                    IMG3969.jpg

Someday, it'll be a real car. At least it has front suspension bolted up now.

                                        Unintentionally blinged-up alternator.

Getrag 265 swap parts: Bellhousing adapter plate, centering ring, shifter cage and linkage to fit 240 shifter location, driveshaft support bearing relocation bracket.

Getting more things together. Meticulously prepped the exhaust manifold and turbine housing, then painted them with 'Stove-Brite' (Old man trick for good HIGH heat paint. Volvo guys use this on turbine housings and say it holds up remarkably well. One guy has been using it for 30 years...)

Phenolic intake manifold spacers to help abate some amount of heat transfer when I'm asking for all that the little baby TD04HL-16T turbo is worth.
