1988 535i E28, rpm sensor, mpg gauge.

88' E28 535i As title states, the RPM gauge doesn't move, nor does the MPG gauge below it. Anyone got pointers, things to check? Dunno why it's been like it. It was like this when I bought it, an the previous owner who was a good friend of mine.

Pull all the fuses and bend the clips so that they are tighter. This should solve the problem, as whenever my gauges have stopped working its just been because the fuse got loose. Also while your in there make sure you don't have any blown fuses either.

Don't know about e28's specifically, but I've seen plenty of cars with solder joints cracking on the cluster itself. If that's what it is, it'd be a pretty easy repair.

Fuses all check out good, well. Except my rear lights, but I got that fixed. Dunno. Pulled the gauge cluster, no solder looks to be cracked/etc. Anyone else? The wires to the coil all check out as well. From the looks of it...
