Im sorry to hear about your dad 😕 It's nice to see more old cars on here. Looks very nice!

Thank you! This car was in Bimmer Immer. And an article on the shop was as well. ALong with Roundel. I have it framed in my room.

He wrote about the build together. Titled "the shoemakers child"

Welcome!! Nice little e21 you have there.

Your father's shop happens to be next door to my boss's son's shop, Acci-dent.

Yes. I know of Acci-dent. Because I stopped by there looking for Nathan one time. When I was informed that had parted ways.

Welcome!! I'm glad to see another e21 owner around here. You don't find these too often. Glad you made it onto the forums. Looks like a super clean and nice car and I love the front valance.

The car is lucky to be here. The total motor rebuild ran 10 grand. And my dad lucked out on finding a set of mahle pistons for it. Apparently it was the last set they had? The front bumper was given to me. A customer came into the shop after my dad was gone and it was being run by my sister and her husband. The guy read the article and came back with that bumper. Looks much better than the stock american bumpers for sure.

The only thing changed on the car is ride height. He lowered it 1.5" and cambere'd the rear wheels. I only put about 1-2k miles a year on it.

As for the paint job. My dad and I argued on that. Because I knew he wasn't going to be around to pay for it. And at the time I was 16 and working at McDonalds. But he took a sander to the trunk and said "there. Now you have to paint it". So I got started. After 3 paint jobs (due to problems) that is the result. I paid $1000 total for the paint job(including paint and labor). So its not he best or the cleanest. But I did use good products.

I actually want to re-do some of the car. As there is rust forming around the inside of the wheel wells.

Welcome. Alpine was a well known independent shop and they helped me to sort out my e30 when I picked it up in 2007. I think I remember reading a story about your dad (Denis?), you, and the project car in the local Badger Bimmer publication (Immer) that was later picked up by Roundel the national BMWCCA publication. Glad to hear that BMW remains in the blood.

That's what I have noticed. Because more people than I'd expect come up to me and remember the business. Someone just recently donated a car to the local high school and he mentioned the business to one of the students who is a friend of mine.

Yes! You got his name. Denis. We were in Bimmer immer and Roundel :) I have the Bimemr immer saved. But I don't think I have the roundel.

I hate the picture on the front for the article. Because I was on my way to school so I look grumpy.

If you went to the shop in 2007. Then you were taken care of by scott and corrina. (they live in texas now, and scott works at a BMW dealership as a mechanic)

Yes. BMW still remains in the wisniewski family's blood! I personally will always own a european car. Scott has told me that he will always have at least 1 bmw between him and corrina.

You should hit up the e21 forum section over at bimmerforums.com. They have great info over there as well as an amazing support group. You would def get a lot of love over there just like you are here.

Right, it was Scott and Corrina. For a while there was also a guy helping out that had worked with Denis down in Texas. Good to hear that everyone is doing well.

The paint job looks good from 50 feet. The door driver side door handle. The paint has cracked. Because the guy painted it in a dirty booth. Even though I offered to help him clean it. And there are fish eyes, a few runs and stuff. But nothing that noticeable. Only a few dents too.

I am going to be in Madison on Sunday April 22nd. For an event called "frost off" at a shop called Radio Dr. I am going to try my best to finish my jetta in time so I can have it metered. (audio).
