What do you need?
Unfortunately my plans are on the DL until I get a few things together for it, and then I shall explain. I will make a build log, but will not post it until the car is pretty close to where I want it.

Wow, it's been far too long!
Have been working on the putsy stuff. Smoothing panels etc.
Got the new core support mocked up, but wasn't quite happy with the finish on it. As you can see from the picture its not flat, it is kind of wavy on top and I think that will drive me insane so I will be picking up an OEM piece. -
Removable, old one was indeed bent and pretty rusty

I bought an aftermarket core support for my Maxima and I got what I paid for, half as much as OE and also half as thick. Fell apart within a year. The engine cradle mounts to the core support in the center and I ended up welding angle iron across to support the engine cradle. Not very pretty but sturdy.
TLDR: spend the money for OE.

The core support isn't really thinner, and nothing critical mounts to it , it just doesn't look as good as I want it to.

Hahaha. I appreciate the end result, but watching these things happen first hand can be painful and confusing.

On it's way. Even from that picture and the previous pictures you can see exactly what I am talking about on the top of it.
I ended up getting it from a different supplier, at $240 shipped. Went to the dealer to see what they would charge, it was $120 more but as it turns out there are still 722 late model core supports left in the world. That is quite a few!I tossed some primer down into the engine bay to take a better look at my filler jobs! Will post pictures of that tomorrow most likely, I didn't feel like hanging around the fumes to find out how it looked! I did finish swapping over the seats from HipMF's car into mine! Much better condition seats, and I also vacuumed the carpet, and re-installed the under dash cover that goes above the pedals. Looks much better!
Oh! I also ordered this! Finally something to put in the center of my steering wheel!

So I actually do work on this car despite popular belief!
I had a headliner shrinkage issue last year, or two years ago, who knows anymore.... Regardless I got tired of it, and decided to look into what adhesive would work to fix it! 3m Super 77 was my weapon of choice.
The headliner is meant to wrap over the door "frame" and get stuck under the door gasket. Believe it or not there is a lot of tension on the headliner once it is pulled into position from a couple of years of being alive.
I used some clamps to assist in holding the headliner while it set up. I am amazed by the can of glue, it says to let it dry to an aggressive tack after spraying it, and aggressive doesn't quite give you an idea of how sticky this stuff is. Once I let it set up and stuck the fabric to it it wasn't going anywhere. At all. Too many words, not enough pictures. Even crappy ones!
So that is now taken care of!
I also got a new oil filter housing, after my last fiasco. This one was stock, never modified, so I did what I do best! Tore it apart and started doing stuff to it.
Drilled the ports out to tap them with a 3/8" NPT, went pretty well considering I had a 37/64ths drill bit with a corded drill, and a tap without a large enough tap handle. The adjustable wrench came in handy.
Cleaned it up a bit and bolted her up! I love how stock it looks! Black fittings of course
Had to take a bit of the cooling duct off of the alternator in order to get the fittings to clear.Waiting on my new core support, apparently it is backordered. Though BMW dealer told me there are 771 of them in Germany, and 1 in Cali.
That is a big part of what I need to do before continuing. -
Are you going to run a thermostat somewhere in the cooler setup? I'm debating on doing this also.

Spray glue = good shit. So you'll be in the Fox Valley to Scooters convoy this year?
When is scooters? I would love to put on a ton of miles this year. I have two years worth of not driving it to make up for.

The biggest advantage to the stock housing is that it has an internal thermostat! So yes, I have a thermostat.
Core support shipped! Should be here Thursday! I love that they gave me free shipping, its a 40lb box and it is large.
