Not killing people or setting things on fire are the big ones, but there's  also "Not loosing an ass-load of money". We've had several "forever jobs" where the scope or acceptance criteria is so ill-defined that we can never seem to get them to completion. I've also seen some heinously bad contracts; something like "If the customer can't find funding then they don't have to pay".

We have an awesome administrator lady who has finally had enough and is lighting some fires under people's asses, so things are improving, but I don't know how long it will last.

        New company, same problems...

Still sitting on this. Practically a barn-find at this point. It's underground parking power-washing time again, so I had to move it. The old battery was beyond junk, so I bought a new one. Started right up. Parked right outside my door, so now I'm forced to sit and look at it for a couple days...

Working for the man always sucks. I just remind myself at the end of the day I'm just there to collect a check.

Whats up with the E21? it runs and drives good right? put some miles on it!

                It runs and drives.

The biggest issue is the large hole where the trunk floor should be. The trunk is not sealed from the interior of the car, so this results in a lot of dust/noise/exhaust/etc in the cabin. Still needs a proper tune. Cooling is barely adequate and I never decided if it's tune related, or if putting it on a dyno would cause it to overheat constantly.

Aside from the major issues, there are 100 smaller ones. Someday I would like to get this stuff sorted out and drive it more, but it's been a few years since I've had the ambition.

Thats always the case. I also fight the same demons of wanting to work on stuff. I find that once I actually start working on something again, I start to gain the ambition back, as long as I can stay focused.

I absolutely love white boards. Break down todo lists into systems and knock one system out at a time. Makes the job seem less daunting. Also helps me to keep motivation on long projects.

Just read though the entire thread. Love it bud!

I do the same thing. If I don't have tasks listed out, I get lost. I'm generally a clean and organized person, not only because I enjoy tidiness, but because if I'm unorganized I get lost and frustrated and everything takes 5x longer lol.

Nothing car related, other than to note that it will be moving from underground parking to a storage unit this fall. Moved out of the crappy studio into a nice 1 bedroom, and I'll have a new office soon.

Just accepted an offer for a new position at my current employer. No pay difference for now, and I had to give up my cube amongst the forklifts, bench grinders and cordless impacts on the manufacturing floor for an quiet office in R&D. Right about here:

It'll be rough, but I'm sure I'll manage somehow.
