Diff fluid pump
-
Need to change the fluid in my diff. Looked up several DIY's for it and it seems pretty simple. My only question concerns putting the new fluid back in. I keep seeing references to pumping it back into the top hole, but, not sure what I'd pump it with. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

When I changed my diff mount (I removed the diff cover so I had to drain the fluid) I used a longish piece of clear flexible tubing pushed onto the end of a funnel. I ran the tubing from the fill hole up out the top of the passenger side rear wheel-well and had a friend pour the fluid into the funnel while I held the other end in the fill hole. It worked quite well actually

You can buy pumps specifically for this at Auto Zone for $8. Threads right onto the diff fluid container.
This, they look like a hand soap pump but bigger.

To the OP one key thing in changing diff or tyranny fluid if you've never done it before. Make sure you can open the fill plug before you remove the drain plug.

I just use a hand transfer pump from advance auto like this one. one tube goes into the diff fluid bottle and the other into the fill hole on the diff. You could even drain it this way too I suppose, just reverse the hoses.

Thanks all. Found a pump like the ones a few of you mentioned at Auto Zone. Now to pick up some fluid, and then make sure I can get the two plugs out before I start.
