Ok I know I can search this info but figured you e30 guys would know. What fluids for MT and the tear diff? And what is recommended for oil?

Between Valvoline ATF, Valvoline synthetic MTF, Lucas synthetic MTF, and Redline MTL there is a very tangible difference in shift quality when using Redline MTL.

Between Royal Purple, Redline, Lucas, and Valvoline in the diff I have never heard/felt any real difference between any of them.

I like valvoline max life 20w50

For temperatures consistently under 45F i run 10w40

The engine stays very clean inside and i have never had any issue running the engine extremely hard with that oil.

Ordered the KYB shocks/struts and the H&r race springs today. Will hopefully arrive before next weekend. If so I willbe installing them Saturday. Can't wait to do some work on it.

Tomorrow I am going to change the fluids and maybe tuck the bumpers.

Boris3 has a thread about Conforti chips being 100 dollars off for black friday from Turner Motorsports so I went ahead and ordered one. Anybody have personal expierence with the e30 chip?

I recently swapped the royal purple out for redline in my z3m and was amazed at how much better it shifts. Definitely worth the extra money!

I had the exact oppsite in my e46 M3. Put in RL and it was really stiff espcially when cold. Put the RP in and liked it much better.

Strange, I could hardly even get the car into any gear when the car was cold and temperatures were below 45°with the royal purple.

20w50 in the spring summer and fall.

                            10w40 in the winter

                            I had the MarkD chip

The chips for the eta definitely provide more notable gains. Good upgrade though.

Unfortunately you have low impedance injectors (ETA) otherwise id suggest upgrading to a more modern design

You could still upgrade but i never studied up on low impedance stock sized upgrades

Do you plan on doing an "i" or 885 head swap any time soon? I plan to do the same. Just don't know where to find a head.

A few bottomside pics and the engine bay. Kinda looks like the coolant resivor is leaking. Is that a known issue?
