Yea on n54tining.com under the jb4 stuff written up by BMS it says you can run 30-40% with no worries so I think I'm going to split that and run a 35% mix.

What are you doing this weekend? I have saturday off, so we should assemble the crew for beer and hookah and do car videos
or sunday
or friday
This is a possibility. I'll hit up you.

Here is a photo until I install the downpipes and E85 fuel pump.

Soon!
I installed my ZHP shift knob today.
Before: worn BMW Performance shift knob
Oooo, what's this? Excuse the fingerprints all over the top.
And installed... still fingerprints.

Much better! That old knob was ugly and probably way over priced!
ย
Looks great!

Thanks guys, I agree!
I decided that I was gonna try to install the downpipes today. A few friends came over to give a hand... all of which are BMW owners.
On the forums, most people say that installing downpipes is a major pain-in-the-ass. They noted that they would rather pay someone else do it if they ever had to do it again. I went into this expecting it to take a while.
We grabbed gaskets from AutoZone, ordered pizza, and slowly got started around 1:45pm.
We were very lazy throughout the whole process. Ended up getting most of the bolts off, but one in particular was giving us trouble. It was in a horrible spot and we (aka Ben) rounded the nut off. This really held things up, so why not take a break and light up the hookah? Please note: Ben under the car realizing he really fucked up

Getting dark now... better get back at it. We ended up having to torch the shit out of it and use an air chisel to snap the stud/nut.
After we got that out of the way, we still needed to unbolt brackets, v-bands, four O2 sensors, and unhook the whole exhaust from the hangers. We even had to unbolt the steering rack and move it out of the way for more room. Maybe we should have started earlier?
Believe it or not, I did work. I just snapped some pictures throughout the day as I got tools and drinks. I wish I would have taken more pics (as always with projects).
I think around 10:00pm we finally got the catted downpipes out. I was hoping the car would be buttoned up and back on the road by this time.
Enough for tonight. Back at it again tomorrow after work...

I can't believe how quickly your making progress on her! ย I've always thought these looked like a Bulldog.
-
I have discovered you can't even get exhaust manifolds off of an m50 without unbolting the right engine mount and lifting the engine an inch.ย I can imagine how cramped it is in there after several more years of engineering...
It's not so bad where they connect to the exhaust (minus 1 bolt), but it's blinding trying to take off and put on the v-bands up where the turbos are. The bolts and O2 sensors are a pain.ย

I can't believe it either, I wasn't planning on very many mods but I can't stop now.
The downpipes are finally in.
Also, I don't have a picture of them, but I wet-sanded and polished my exhaust tips since we removed the exhaust. They were black and caked with crap. I always assumed my exhaust was some sort of custom setup but as I cleaned the tips they revealed a "Riss Racing" stamp. Sure enough, this thing has a $1300 3" catback exhaust!
And as promised, a short teaser video. I only recorded these to show what it sounds like in and out of the car.
Excuse my excitement as I grannyshift up the onramp, I've never lost traction in 3rd like that before.
(I'm not sure why my voice sounds weird right at the beginning)
After this video I put bus lengths on a new Camaro a few times from 50-120mph as he tried messing around with me. I'll drop the E85 fuel pump in next week and reflash the ECU more aggressively. Can't wait to hit up the strip and get her on the dyno again.

Ughhhhh, that lens is cheating. Looks soooo good. Might have to ask for it for my birthday because of these recent pictures...
