M62 timing chain info

Does anyone have any experience with M62tu timing chains? I have only done M20 timing belts and I'm having trouble finding anything helpful on other forums. I assume it's going to be much more confusing because technology and VANOS. I ask because of this, http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/cto/4169688667.html Would be a great deal if I could figure out what needs to be done and and how to do it. Also if anyone has a copy of the e39 Bentley manual, would you be able to scan the DIY for timing chain replacement and post them for me that would be much obliged.

There are multiple DIY's on the internet. It's a whore of a job, and pretty expensive. A member on here recently did his car, I don't remember what his username is though. You need specialty tools as well.

Kevin (camarok) did his on the 540i a couple months ago, but he sold the car.

That would be a slick car, maybe the tensioner failed causing it to jump, is this a common problem with these?

No, the timing rails are broken. It's a common problem.

Buy my m62 i have for $650 and save yourself the headache. Easier to swap motors then to do this job.

And at 650 bucks about a third of the price of parts for a rail job.

Thanks for the input everyone. From what I had gathered it was a difficult thing to do but I just wanted more specifics. The post was deleted so I guess it was sold anyways, wasn't able to make a move fast enough.
