Installed, bimmer world shorted me of hardware. Copper nuts, I need 24, they sent 18. More like bummer world. I ended up reusing 6 old ones from one of the two 24 valvers I have.
They sent me a pack of gummy bears, but not the right amount of hardware. Priorities.

Gummy bears = priority

Thy are sending me more nuts. But I already used some from the m50.
Convenient
-
New waterpump, tstat/housing are on. Need to rob the tensioner off the m50 yet.
New oil line from vanos to oil filter housing as well.

Today I'm going to swap pans/pickup/new oil pump nut. Put on the new sensors, see how far I can get before I need to swap the harness

Things happened over the weekend. Got the valve cover on for good now. Spark plugs are on their way as well.
Got the pan off the s50 with no broken bolts/surprises.
Had the m50 on the hoist, popped the pan and pickup tube off the motor. Robbed the ECS magnetic drain plug for the e34 pan. Realized I never order a damn oil pickup tube gasket.
Ordered one, also ordered trans mounts, engine mounts, power steering delete block/plate, dipstick orings and new PCV piece/hoses. I'll still need to buy some hose that goes from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold.
Engine wise I'm pretty sure that's about it right now.
Safety wired the oil pump nut from bimmer world

The oil pump nut on the m50 was finger loose...the s50 was still good and tight-but added piece of mind is nice.
Cut the tab off for the old pickup tube (so the e34 pan will fit) and cleaned up the windage tray and reinstalled.
Gunk'd the pan and sprayed it white. This will be dirty before the car even has oil in it

anybody have clutch/flywheel/pressure plate recommendations?Â
I'm open to opinionsÂ
inb4 stock (im open to that option as well, just curious if anyone has had luck with anything else)
thanks dudes

I love my UUC/Fidanza flywheel with e34 m5 OE clutch. It is spendy though.
I was looking into grip force setups on their website. They offer some "packages" with the fidanza flywheel option; or their fx racing single mass flywheels. From what I've read some use re-badged LUK clutches.
Id rather only do this once.
Here's a link to what some dudes on bimmerforums run and like

the gripforce stage 3/4 clutches are pretty good! they definitely don't last too long, and they chatter a bit, but man they are cheap and hold power. I have no complaints. But I also would not buy one expecting to not replace it soon.Â
that being said, I would probably get a different clutch for this car, especially if you have future FI goals or something.

FI wouldn't happen for a while.
How long is "not too long" ?

Well I'm not sure what kind of driving you are doing, but about a season of drifting would do it in. I'm not sure how often you clutch kick, but I kick a whole bunch.
Personally if I was in your spot and wanted to drive it this summer, I would buy the cheap clutch and have fun all summer. Save up, and don't push it if it starts to slip.
Also not sure what kinda position you are for spending money, and how much time means to you.

I'm a cheap asshole with no time.
I have become the epitome of consumer
I'm sure spirited driving will happen. But killing a clutch in a summer isn't on my bucket list

I have a cheap flywheel. $150

What's the weight on the JB?
-
5$ says the cheap eBay clutch will do you justice for a while.
I mean, how long before you can afford the clutch you want right?
It takes me about 2 hours to change a clutch on an e30. I couldn't imagine it being much more with a 24v swap.
I would rather drive the car now with a cheap clutch versus drive it next summer with a nice clutch(could still do
That)

I think 13lbs

I think 13lbs
that would be the same as mine. I would say its the perfect weight! I mean, I have never had a lighter chromoly one though. I tried a friends car with an alum flywheel and it was not fun.

No progress really, just put the pan on after getting a new pickup tube gasket. Also put some ngk plugs in it.
Just need to swap the harness from the m50 to the s50. Clean up intake manifold & put new gaskets in it. Clean up TB. Random vacuum line from fpr to intake. Random coolant line to bypass TB.
Then all the driveline/clutch stuff
Oh and a serp belt

How it sits now. I bet the white gets dirty before I even put fluids in it
Do have a question: I've read that you need to run shorter bolts to hold the crank pulley on after removing the ac pulley. Some say they ran shorter, others did not. I cannot see anything touching something it shouldn't. For piece of mind I'll probably just get shorter bolts
