Thanks! Yeah I absolutely love the car thus far; my only complaint is ... well.... not a very big one... but.... the cupholders are kinda small for my big American beverages.

My clear on the lips isn't looking so good. I might take them apart and fix that this winter. They're not bad enough where the aluminum is hopelessly damaged (yet).

I have a tec cupholder, my phone dock is in front of my old busted cupholders.

Yep, I have had two E39s and two Tec cupholders. Worth every penny.

Yeah storage in an E39 is a joke. I'd love a flip up armrest setup but I can't justify the cost.

I bought 2 ultimate cup holders http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ for my e39.  They are the best.  Never even touch the flip out ones.

I agree,flip up /collapse-able cup holders are garbage. Solid for the win. I still gotta get something for the E28... ugh.

The ultimates might work for the e28 too.  You can bent them and such to fit in different places.
