I met this dude once before. He had a really clean E34 540 that he drifts with. I have seen him posting on facebook about the car trying to get it running. Thats about all I know.

Seems like there's been a run of these in the past few weeks. Weather gets warm and all the e36 M3s with issues come out of hibernation. Maybe the dreams of progress with project cars over the winter hits reality and folks want out? Anyway, gives Snap assorted options to look through.

Any links to that?
daniel_f. on e46fanatics.com is the guy

Getting rid of overrun fuel cut is apparently the first thing any serious tuner does, but honestly I didn't make it too far into this monster-thread. Google Drive link in the first post has the goods.

Blown head gasket

Not local but...
That price is pretty good considering the 6-speed too. It would probably cost a lot more to build one

Not local either, but interesting swap

rofl you honestly just never know with me. I made the decision to buy my M3 on a whim because it just so happened to be the exact option set I wanted and was impossibly clean.
My 325 is completely refreshed now with vanos, H&R springs, control arms, half shafts, and new coolant tank. With no rust I think I could sell it pretty easily.
$8500 is unfortunately more than the car is worth but the market dictates someone will pay $8500 most likely because wagon fanatics will pay stupid money for an MT 540

contradiction much?
i wouldn't pay 8500 for it, but i think its worth that.

It's a 200k mile engine that was used to tow and there is no brake controller to be seen in the photos which means he grossly exceeded the towing capacity on that car. In real terms there's no way this car is not so tired that it's worth $8500.
You're thinking of the old adage "something is only worth what someone is willing to pay" - that's not really what I'm trying to say. "Worth" as I put it is probably for lack of a better term.
