hey im doing the 1jz swap on my 1992 325i and im looking for exhaust advice...i plan on doing all custom straight piping but im aware that i need some back pressure...so i need a muffler...now im not looking for anything that will make my car look like poop so big a$$ cans will not do lol anyone have any advice for an exhaust that does these functions: look clean, sound good, and be free flowing because....well its a boosted engine lol so suggestions?

Magnaflow says it best, plus there is a handy diagram to help size the pipes

You definitely don't need or want backpressure.
You've got half of it. In a boosted application you don't need to worry about backpressure but you still want it. The turbo itself creates the backpressure and exhaust resonance necessary for scavenging in the cylinder head.
A 3" pipe with an 18" resonator, no cat, and a nice free flowing magnaflow would sound great:)
This sounds like a good idea to me! My brother in law ran 2 magnaflows on his A6 2.7t and it sounded like a beast!

Sorry, I didn't quanitfy my answer by saying "in a boosted application" because we're talking about a 1jz.
