Cleaned out the garage a bit. Now I can get at the e30!!

Gotta charge the battery, fill it with oil and back it in the garage so I can pull the motor.

Got the car turned around to pull the motor.

Thinking of selling my s52 stuff and building the s54. Not 100% sure but leaning that way.

I'd rather take the money to build a stroker and put it into S54 turbo parts. S54 stuff is expensive and maximizing the dollar per horsepower ratio is a priority.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around how I can run a traction control set up while using a stock DME. Boost, spark or fuel cut? I have some research to do.

Thinking of the turbo route. Need to get the s54 torn apart and new rings, bearings, etc. But while it is apart I should put a thicker head gasket in and go all in on the boost build.

First, I have a lot of research to do.

Unless you are going for 700+hp my vote is to keep going with the S52/M52

My thought process is having a more reliable 500 to 600 horsepower set up instead of maxing out the s52 platform.

Traction control is going to be needed so I have to figure out how to do that with a stock DME.

Not too much time to sit and do research. I am working with 7 hot buyers and have another 12 who are slowly starting the house hunt. Price ranges from $90,000 to $1.3m. I keep teasing my wife saying that once we take care of all these buyers I'll have broken down bimmers as far as the eye can see!!

The s54 is awesome but is it really a more reliable engine to boost than and s5x/m5x?

Max psi sage 1 kit with e85 550ish whp. Anything above that need a built motor. Now if that would fit in a e30 chassis with s54 I have no idea. Would most likely have to be all custom.

I can't imagine that 600 is maxing it out, especially how you have it built.
You can push an m52 to 600hp on a stock bottom end (upper limit from what I understand)

Rebuilding and boosting a completely different motor seems like way more time and money again to potentially have the same headaches.
Beyond that I don't know your inventory of motors etc. to have input lol.

Glad to see that the garage is being used again!

                                    Step 1) Buy e36

                                    Step 2) Remove current engine

                                    Step 3) Install s54

                                    Step 4) Smokey burnouts

Finally starting on removing the motor. Just got the intake manifold off and cleaned up the garage a little bit. 33254efea6bc0e333c7cae8aa6f79b6e.jpg

Anytime you need to do something on these motors it's basically "welp, better remove the intake and we'll see from there"
