my E30 story

yes, it was pretty scary having to jack the car back up and then 20 minutes later have to go under it again. im taking extra precautions to make sure the car is sturdy now.

well i finally got my motor to my house. it came yesturday but the box truck we used was too tall for us to lift out with a normal engine jack. we ended up putting it on a car trailer and using a pallet jack to move it in today.Â

the car looks great so far. on a side note, would you be willing to sell the intake and the valve cover? and also i bought the lip off of jakes drift car. R.I.P.

alright i just got done with the gas tank. i decided to try and fix the hole. why not if its out right? i tried to do it sort of right so here it is.Â
here is the damage.
i started by buying a bunch of that quick steel and rubber undercoat. i then used a wire wheel to remove the paint that was around the hole. i then put three layers of that quick steal on and all over the hole.Â
this is all of the putty stuff i put on. i fully went over board but i dont know if this will actually work and why not.Â
i then sprayed two cans of rubber undercoat on the whole tank. i obviously cleaned the whole thing in mineral spirits and also wire wheeled the rust on the seams so it wouldnt rust any more.Â
id say it went very well and that the tank wont leak.Â

i decided to loop my heater core to get heat faster so it doesnt have to run through the engine first.Â
i put the rear end back together kind of. i started making a list of what i have to put loctite on and torque it to N.G.A. spec.
im starting a new trend guys.

carefully disconnect any wiring from body to trunk.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddddddddd boom new trend. eehhh ehhh what do you guys think? maybe some facebook/instagram fame???Â
i thought id show you guys the damage that was done by the PO or who ever owned this thing.
ok now i put the new trunk lid on. i know i know the paint match is incredibly close. im thinking of a neat idea to keep it closed. i got it to sit flush so im not sure what i want to do here.Â
got this bad boy on today.Â
i got a little frustrated with the old control arm. it just started to cross the line and i couldnt take it.Â
 i will be attempting to put this thing in on friday and saturday.
