e34 Touring

replaced front thrust and control arms yesterday. pretty straight forward except i dont know how people fit the 22mm box wrench on the nut near the front crossmember. i refused to modify my snap on 22mm so i cut up an old generic 7/8 to make it fit, and it worked like a charm.
i was in a hurry so i kept forgetting to take pictures. heres the modified wrench:

and heres the steering plate. for the e34, its bolted to the bottom of the front strut assembly, then the control arms/tie rods are bolted to it. easiest procedure is remove tie rod, remove control arms from car, then remove steering plate. bring the plate to your bench vise and hammer the ball joints out with your fork and reassemble.

did a full detail today (wash, clay bar, polish, wax, trim restore) and was able to take some shots. wish i had finished my style 5s for this, but the stock wheels are clean, at least.

thanks guys. finally got around to finishing the style 5s. (5 months later)
they're not perfect, but they are going to be daily driven so that would be a pointless endeavor in the end.

will hopefully get them mounted this week.
-
thanks. i decided to not use any fancy products on the lips, just waxed them and they kept the same shine.

Looks pretty terrible, bro. you should really consider a 4-lug swap and throw some bottlecaps on it.
.....said no one ever.
