    Your headlights r garbage.

I have Finding Nemo flashlights that r better than that

But really, im interested in there being a WIBIMMERS 2017 calendar or something and we should put your photography to use at some of these meets.

I would help with a calendar, sure.

another update towards the car becoming the Ultimate Daily-ing Machine

Installed a Curt Class I hitch.  Was going to be building a teardrop camper to tow, but sadly that won't happen. Next plan is maybe a small boat and using a trailer to pickup bigger engines.

    9PPsnWK.jpg

it bolts to the underside of the bumper, and in these three places under the body. its rated to 150lbs tongue weight, but i stood on it and bounced and i'm a well overweight at 2 1/4 and nothing broke so i have confidence in it.

still finishing up the wiring, but the cool part is i can hide the plug behind the tow hook cover to keep it pretty protected from dirt/rain/snow.

wiring done.  labeled it for anyone else who is thinking of doing this.  because the e34 has the light check system, the wiring adapter you need is the kind that takes its power from the car's battery, and the splice wires to the lights only give the adapter the signal for which lights to turn on. that way the voltage drop/raise is so low the system doesn't throw a check light.

mounted it inside the passenger side panel since I don't really use this side for storage.

      r7QSwDZ.jpg

factory sound insulation fits right over the top of it so i can still put stuff in here if i want to with damaging anything.

don't mind the brown burned-looking crap on the ground wire. there was mystery goo on the bottom of the insulation that i didnt notice till it was too late.

Looks great! I've been considering adding a hitch to my e46 wagon.

          Thanks!

did some touring things with the touring today. i custom built the tandem rack by re purposing a set of two regular bike holders. new tandem racks cost $300-400, I did this one for $15 in hardware (i found the racks on the side of the road)

yup. 90% of the style for 25% of the cost = 100% worth it.

getting off topic? maybe, but who cares, this is what my 'car' is up to these days!

rolled with my 'jenky' clutch master on an 800 mile trip this week. she survived! visited friends, kayak fished, and camped in the back of the touring.

                                Esdkn4y.jpg

You can fit a full 'twin' length camp mattress in the back! i also built screens for the side doors to keep the hoards of mosquitoes out. (you can barely see them here)

car left at the boat launch

                                pDPCLNI.jpg

Don't know if anyone here fishes, but it was a great week for fishing. Picture below was a 40" muskie, best of the week. Also boated a 36" and a 24" muskie, and a personal record 22" 6lb largemouth!

I love wagon camping. I camped in my e39 touring once this summer so far, and I've done it with previous Volvo wagons.

Good to see the touring being used as it should!

                                          sadly, rolling solo these days.

I loved that episode because of the e39. the part where he used a log (and proceeded to put it through the rear window) to help with hill starts because the throttle-by-wire was dying was freakin hilarious!

Awesome!  Pulling muskies from a kayak has got to be a riot!  The largest i've pulled into a kayak was a 24" northern and that was exciting!  That's a pretty nice set up you got going on in the back of the touring.

yeah it was awesome, caught it on light gear (fishing for smallies) so it was 3x as fun! it was pulling me all over the place.

I love wagon camping. I camped in my e39 touring once this summer so far, and I've done it with previous Volvo wagons.

Good to see the touring being used as it should!

good form.  its really got some advantages over a tent. 100% dry, guaranteed. quiet, if you are at a noisy campground. warmer and less damp on those chilled summer mornings. yeah, it would be nice to be able to sit up, but its just for sleeping anyhow.
