Just chiming in to say that the E90 DCT is worlds ahead of the SMG transmission that came in the E46. The DCT shifts extremely fast and has a much better feel when you're changing gears.

I'm also thinking a LSB E46 M3 with a stick shift would be an option as well...

That's a great track option, the e9x is a great all around option.

Realistically wouldn't be doing much of, if any, track driving. It's just that the LSB E46 has always been near the top of the bucket list.

I agree with you, I LOVE the LSB e46.  It's a car I had hanging on my wall as a kid.  I still want an e46 some day but the e9x just fits my life a lot better right now.

Hey, I came back with a 318ti.  Is that okay to do?  Also I saw that I was "spotted" not long ago.  Man I look fat from behind on a tiny motorcycle.

                                      So like this one...

                                      https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=490388544&zip=54115&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D54115%26startYear%3D1997%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceDESC%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26endYear%3D1997%26modelCodeList%3D318TI%26makeCodeList%3DBMW%26searchRadius%3D0&startYear=1997&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&endYear=1997&modelCodeList=318TI&makeCodeList=BMW&searchRadius=0&makeCode1=BMW&modelCode1=318TI

But how reliable after 172,490 miles is the engine? $3,295 seems like a bargain, but it's in NJ

But how reliable after 172,490 miles is the engine? $3,295 seems like a bargain, but it's in NJ

Mine has 210K, and I paid 1100 with a blown radiator, delivered to my door.  Even after that, engine is quiet.  Buy one cheap.  You can get a pretty nice 318ti for not much.  They aren't worth anything.

EDIT: Didn't notice your auto-tragic troll post.  Oh you.

So could that one in NJ be worth $3,295? Seems to be super clean, I'd be concerned about the reliability though.

How much does the stock 4-cyl crank out?
