Are you referring to the bearing falling out on its own or the milled bolt heads?

      Looks good to me.

        Both

I really want to know what happened to this car. There is no way it was road worthy any time in the near past. The rear trailing arm wasn't even attached. There had to of been 27 different vacuum leaks that I discovered while disassembling the intake area....and a hack job m50 manifold swap. Now this.

Here is to hoping this trans actually works properly once I get it in the other car. I know the zf 5spd is pretty robust, but it appears this car has been used, abused, and put away rusted to shit. 2d2d64afe575833c911faa23292da06d.jpg

Yeah, like I said, I was surprised to see that car was anywhere but a junkyard. It was rough when I sold it years ago.

Fingers crossed that the trans is in good shape. The clutch was toast when I sold it, but all of the mechanics worked fine.

I'm just as surprised. Well, it will be meeting the crusher in the near future

Not much to update. Still procrastinating hoping the lift will become available... I have pretty much everything ready to go for the swap. I just need to clean everything up and replace all the wearable parts, oh and a clutch/flywheel

Finally found some reasonably priced (still ridiculous for two little metal brackets and some wire) hardtop mountsef2f9608dc25a56606a272c78a241d04.jpg

Awesome hardtop! How heavy is it? Is it something you can install and remove by yourself if you are all hopped up on Diet 7up?

It's not heavy. Maybe 50-60lbs. It's a bit big and akward to try to manhandle by oneself... I would rather not damage the pins on the top of the car itself. I will eventually put a pulley lift in my garage to lift it on/off

Oh yea, I also swapped the seats. Stock seats were in bad condition. Parts car seats were in good condition. Granted, they aren't the right color, but I have a habit of building cars with an identity crisis. They will have to do until I can find some clean tan replacements. Only takes 10 minutes to swap them out.8dc1f70702fe00b73b7024292b435ef5.jpg

You could always do a whole interior redye. It would be a huge undertaking but if you like black interior it may be worth it!

(Its also something you could do while waiting for the lift)

Ive thought about it. Not sure its something I want to tackle. If I found a full donor interior I would do the swap, but I dont want to dye. The rear seats have some seams separating, and the door cards/rear seat sides arent in the best shape on the top edge from, what I assume is, sun damage. Hard to find vert parts though.
