Driving the beast for the first time since engine swap up and down the driveway =

It needs a lot of tuning (paging Mr Brian. Mr Brian. You have a telephone call). New clutch feels great, brakes are good, shifting is nice.

Just got done cruising around the neighborhood tuning the engine with Brian (Snap). Things are going a lot better than I ever expected them to. Made my list of things needing to be buttoned up before the meet. It's looking good so far!

Here is a thing to appreciate:
This car underwent both an engine swap AND received turbocharging. Minus a couple electrical issues (fuel pump power signal and an incorrect main relay in the e30 harness) the thing starts up, runs and drives nearly flawlessly.
I will be so lucky if I get my crap back together and have such minimal screwing around to do after it runs.
We did about 5 miles or so with no hood/lights. Quite surprised we didnt cross paths with any local law enforcement honestly.
Had it up to 5500rpm, car makes all 8psi of boost that its supposed to, scoots real nice even though most accelerations were part throttle. This "smaller" t3 turbo provides much more linear power than my t3/t4.
Super excited to see all this effort moving down the road now

Awesome! Can't wait to check it out.

Thanks Tom!

Good progress today. Got the seat belts bolted down, rear strut brace/battery tray welded in, new battery strapped down & electrical taped/wire loomed all the exposed wires in engine bay.

Front end all back together with turn signals and HIDs all working as they should.

flares won't happen until body work and paint starts. hopefully over winter that will happen

Man it felt good driving this thing to the e30 picnic this past weekend. Everything went so smoothly with it, I can't be any happier. Never thought the first real drive would go so well, lol.

Those would be killer! These are what I have waiting to go on. Rota Grid V in 15x9 et-15

Lower hose clamp was loose, so tightening that hopefully has fixed the leak. I also took the turbo off to try and fix an exhaust leak. Using ultra copper gasket sealant as amother layer of sealing hopefully fixed that as well. Waiting till tomorrow to fire it up so the sealant has full time to cure. Put turbo blanket on as well.

Got some more goodies in the mail too.
UUC EVO3 shifter. After feeling this shifter in father Hundleys car I had to have one. Got a hell of a deal on it off ebay too.
Electronic boost controller and db15 harness to control boost through megasquirt.

Is it an actual Evo? I remember a few weeks ago rob warned everyone about reps. But if it came from their store or it was used I'd have no worries
-
It is indeed a real evo3

Wired up the EBC and radiator fan relay. Just need to run the control ground wire to megasquirt and connect the db15 connector. Then figure out the settings in tunerstudio for control.
I also had to drill and tap new holes in the shifter cup for the UUC evo3 shifter since previous owner stripped the holes out big time. Hopefully all my measuring and lining up works out and the holes are where they need to be. Will be installing tomorrow morning.
