blower motor cover needs to be stripped

Help. I want to remove the black sound/ heat prevention material on the cover that goes over the blower motor in the engine bay of my e30. 

What should I use?

Torch the shit out of it and see what happens.

Mine is off, po did it. I'll ask him quickly

He said he pulled off as much as he could, then wire wheeled the rest off with an angle grinder

I used a screwdriver and chisel to get as much off as I could, then grabbed the wire wheel and got to work.

torch the back side to make whatever adhesive melty without burning the insulation?

anyone try any chemicals? gas or something may just melt the stuff, although making chemical messes is no fun.

maybe put it in the freezer and see if it gets super brittle, maybe it will chunk off easier?

That's why. It would look crappy covered in the rubber stuff.

Awesome. Im going to start with freezing it. That works well with normal sound deadening material. If not, touching and scraping it will have to be. I was hoping there was just a chemical that would dissolve it. I will report back once I figure out what works best.
