<![CDATA[blower motor cover needs to be stripped]]>Help. I want to remove the black sound/ heat prevention material on the cover that goes over the blower motor in the engine bay of my e30. 

What should I use?

Im going to start with freezing it. That works well with normal sound deadening material. If not, touching and scraping it will have to be. I was hoping there was just a chemical that would dissolve it. I will report back once I figure out what works best.

anyone try any chemicals? gas or something may just melt the stuff, although making chemical messes is no fun.

maybe put it in the freezer and see if it gets super brittle, maybe it will chunk off easier?
