Backed the E30 outta the driveway in Saturday, and noticed a nice drip line from under the car on the pavement. As I sat contemplating what it could be for a second - I slowly watched it evaporate.....
"Oh crap..."
Straight back into the garage.
Found the culprit - and got it replaced tonight:
Replaced the filter and both lines running to/from it. PO at some point apparently thought a kinked straight line would be fine.

Is that to slip over the velocity stack?
Yup! Unfortunately, the velocity stack I got does not match the dimensions given on the website I bought it from (it's a 6.5" OD, should have been a 7" OD) so hoping they just sent me the wrong one.... But doubt it (They don't offer a 6.5").

I had thought that I was the only one with the gap between the bumper and upper valance (under the headlights) that reduces near the kidneys.
It appears that I am not!

Well Collin I decided to read your build thread today and it made realize all the fun moments that have been had so far. With many more interesting fun times down the road.

Any words of wisdom for removing the forward-most lower intake manifold nut? It's directly behind the heater core hose, and I'll be damned if I can find a way to get to the thing. My assumption is I need to drain the coolant system and heater core - but it's a huge PITA to do so looking for any other ideas. I've used every combination of box wrenches and 1/4-3/8 drive swivel/extension/sockets and it just seems impossible to get to. Absolutely infuriating.

Sometimes the easiest things just turn into hellish nightmares. Took the 4 bolts out that hold the fuel rail in place - pulled out fuel rail to swap injectors - and reinstalled... Went to put the exact same 4 bolts back in and every. damn. one. feels like they were cross threading going in. Didn't wanna start, then when they finally did, had just a pinch of tension on them, now they don't wanna snug down, just feels like they're spinning under tension about 1/16" off being fully seated.
Every hole lined up perfectly - I could see right down into the bolt holes.... But I'll be damned if they wanted to start and thread nicely.
Fuel rail is in place, everything looks fine.... Just can't seem to get that final 1/16" of bolt in to firmly seat the rail. Absolutely infuriating that something that simple could be such a PITA. I could see 1 bolt not wanted to go in - but EVERY SINGLE FRIGGEN ONE?!? I triple checked to make sure I didn't mix up hardware (could've have - bench top was freshly cleaned before I started).
Just one of those "Why does this crap always have to be an issue" kinda deals.

Can't express how thankful I am to Ben and Brian for the help today and the past week. MS is installed and running excellent for the short period of time we had the car running and working today. Holding off on more tuning until I get a slight break-up at 2.4k RPM sorted (think we've got it sorted, just needs some tweaking).
