Pre Cat O2 sensors have been replaced with OEM parts and triple checked for the correct position.

        Now I'm getting these codes:

        DME,DME Number: 7842975 Current: 2159.4h Last Cleared: 2158.3h
        140,1,38,2480,Knock Control Deactivated/Knock Protection
        175,1,80,5120,Fuel System Diagnosis Bank 2
        149,1,38,2040,Fuel Level

I have just cleaned my filter and re-oiled it.  I'm going to drive it all day today to get any extra oil out of the filter then I'll install the new OEM Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Do I need new knock sensors??!!

Light is back on. I guess I need the fancy BMW scanner to recalibrate the ECU with the new MAF sensor.

Also I'm going to spray brake cleaner around the intake manifold and throttle bodies while the car is running to see if there are any vacuum leaks.

If all this still results in a engine light Frank Smith will send me an ecu to pop in to see if my ecu is bad. From his experience the coil drivers in the higher milage cars get lazy.

There is no calibration for a new maf.

Same story, I'm having them send over the stock tune just to be 100% that that's not the issue.

I have a feeling a new ecu is in the works.

Frank Smith should be sending over a stock tune today.

The M3 has been having starting issues for awhile now. It cranks on the first try then no start. Second key turn it cranks starts but creeps up to idle very slowly. Ideas??

Maybe. I was all over Milwaukee yesterday I can't remember my time frames.

                        Stock tune to come today.

I also had a nightmare that the M3's head gasket blew. I have to get these cars fixed!! Haha

The stock tune made a huge difference being that the car doesn't sound like a old ford pickup with a bad exhaust manifold gasket. The light still came on. After talking with Frank Smith from tuning tech we think the 2 cam and crank sensors should be replaced. I will order those tomorrow. I'm thinking that is why the car doesn't start on the first try. I also have replaced almost everything else that would throw the o2 sensor codes.

So the car runs better on the stock tune then?

I'm thinking the file that was on the computer that he made the tune off of was of the car running poorly.

I'm getting the 2 cam sensors and crank sensor tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem.

So your pulling the intake manifold. Unless someone replaced the clamps that hold it on each throttle body to normal hose clamps your going to need the special pliers/tool to take them off and put them back on.

Didn't take pics but I replaced the intake, exhaust and crank sensors.

Cleaner the throttle bodies and checked if they were adjusted properly.

Cleaned the inside of the intake manifold.

                                        Cleaned the ICV.

Properly connected the SMG Reservoir line and topped it off with fluid. It was leaking.

Replaced what I think was the fuel relay.

Took it for a 66 mile drive late last night. No engine light after I cleared the adaptations. However, I'm still not 100% positive it's fixed.
