An s54 swap is NOT a weekend project.... An s54 takes a ton of fabrication. There are around five to ten running s54 swaps on r3v and bfc. And S52/S50 are totally different stories, those are weekend projects for sure if you have everything ready to go. 15 large does not seem bad for an s54 swap.

Good god...
You could have a 750whp turbo'd S52, with fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, titanium Brembos, and a 50 cal mounted on the roof for less than $29k...
More realistically, an s52 + some mods (cams, etc..) + 6 speed would be epic, and again, feasible to get all that swapped in for less than $8k

I'm shooting for 8K as my project budget. But there is a s54 on r3v for sale, guy lives in Milwaukee.
Low miles, complete turn key into an e30 for 9k. Everything included to put in an e30!
But I think that's a little expensive still. S52 is the way to go, few years from now it'll be the other way around.
