Annual teardown v.5

What size tires are you running on the 15s? I've been lokking for 225-50-15s but haven't come up with much.
Here is a breakdown of all the summer tire and track tire options in 15" from tirerack.com. I didnt include all-season or high performance all seasons to the table.

Heaps of options in 205-50 but that would be slightly stretched on an 8" wheel
I would like to do 225-50 but the prices are a bit stupid compared to the 205s
The last thing I want is stretched tires and 205s would have a slight stretch but this is a 205-50 on a 15x8, very acceptable. Much better than the 215-45 on a 17x9 that I just got rid of

The new tires i will be getting are going to be meatier and the front end is missing about 100lbs of weight. With that said, i plan on raising the rear 3/4" for better suspension geometry (as opposed to lowering the front) this had been on my to-do list for a long while now.
Its hard to get used to how small the wheels look but they are SO much lighter and driving will be much more enjoyable

What's missing from front that's 100 lbs?

-
I'm diggin the wheel color with the black. Definetly have to fill that gaaapp.

When you gonna put the push bar on the front and the gun rack in the back/quote]
I dont even know how to answer this!!!
Probably about the same time you admit that this is a selfie

Keep these nice pics coming. They will definitely help me sort things out on this swap.

double yep

With et20 it appears that a wider tire could rub on the strut (225+)
I would stick with a lower offset 15x7 since 205-50 is what you are going to find for summer tire sizes. If you are fine with performance all seasons then you will be able to find more available tires wider than 205 that justify getting an 8" wide wheel

Thanks for the info Snap.
It's always better to hear it from a reliable source then reading some posts from people on the web.

Been eyeballing these for awhile on CL. I'll have to call to double check offsets and center note.
