    No Wheels

    1ec940a243eb8cf9c721bcd6acae6bc7.jpg

    New Wheels

The 17x9 style 5 reps were heavy, required stretched tires or plasma cutter experience And did not instill good feelings about driving hard. -5000 scene points later and I have a different set 15x8 et20 Konig Wideopen (13.5lb) 503de53374264333a58cd340647f03e1.jpg

    This engine is going away

    200ae97e788299f3a04512c04cfc922d.jpge85beac07d1e836846d8f54f78f24dcc.jpgb93dc72e832a7c8540a1702a85425ef4.jpg

It is/was a champion among M20s and proved its worthiness many times over. I will be pulling it, selling it, and rebuilding a rather disgusting-looking engine that has been sitting dormant for a few years to put in its place. No worries. My current M20 is being recommissioned to duty in another chassis Dirty, corroded, and im rescuing it.

Im not even sure what will all be done besides an engine rebuild. There are many things I would like to do but I have to decide between taking time to do everything I want to do + missing out on driving the car in 2015 or waiting to do some things over next winter.

Do not remove the oil pump secondary shaft bearings unless they are damaged.  That is all.

Also I like the new wheels.

Go twin disc 7.25" have someone machine m20 flywheel and buy the hydro tob. Clutch is 10 spline 1 1/8 like Chevy. Clutches are cheap and it's nice and light. Very rebuild able.

I would hot tank it and see what happens to them.  Have you ever replaced them?  Sucks the big one.

What size tires are you running on the 15s? I've been lokking for 225-50-15s but haven't come up with much.

Here is a breakdown of all the summer tire and track tire options in 15" from tirerack.com. I didnt include all-season or high performance all seasons to the table.

                          15tirezpsca3cfa4f.jpg

Heaps of options in 205-50 but that would be slightly stretched on an 8" wheel

I would like to do 225-50 but the prices are a bit stupid compared to the 205s

The last thing I want is stretched tires and 205s would have a slight stretch but this is a 205-50 on a 15x8, very acceptable. Much better than the 215-45 on a 17x9 that I just got rid of

The new tires i will be getting are going to be meatier and the front end is missing about 100lbs of weight. With that said, i plan on raising the rear 3/4" for better suspension geometry (as opposed to lowering the front) this had been on my to-do list for a long while now.

Its hard to get used to how small the wheels look but they are SO much lighter and driving will be much more enjoyable
