So I have the M50 sitting in my garage and I just found out that I won't be able to use the garage at all for the swap. So now everything is up in the air

whats wrong with doing it in the driveway?

Monday would be a perfect day for a swap.

lol! my driveway too steep. But it's family stuff.

So the current plan is to get the longblock out of the garage, buy ALL the parts I will need for the swap. And then bring the swap to a garage (First I have to find one... ) and do it over the course of a weekend (preferably a saturday).

doing an engine swap in a weekend is pretty intense.

Make sure you have competent helpers that can allow you to get multiple tasks done at once.

Looks like I will be the lone ranger with the only force-fed M20 around here afterall.

So that PCV hose doesnt connect to the valve cover then? that would make for a massive vac. leak and cause the car to run like potatoes

LIES! Our m20 was junk, but we found another one and we will still be boosting an m20 :)

You upset bassboy by not sending the M50 tps, and you paid the ultimate price.  You are dead Rowley.

                          dead.

Last years ragedrifting accident in the Jetta was a fluke, this time you are really dead.

Nice purchase I'm excited to see the m50 go in. Good luck on getting it all swapped in a weekend. I got my M50 swap in, in a day but mine was already in an E30 so it was easier for me. If I could give some advice I would drop the subframe with the motor. It's a lot easier than trying to move the motor in and out through the top.

Does anyone know if my "stainless steel" aftermarket headers I got on my m20 currently would fit on an m50? or are the flanges totally different?
