the E28 COULD, and might. but I had removed it, because the AC button never worked, rechecked fuses/lines. ended up being a fuse.. >_>

Subaru AC dominates. Its the first car I've ever used it in, because for some reason it doesn't give me headaches like my previous cars..

in the e34 it doesn't work but probably just needs a recharge.  will be doing that for the summer.  i took my e30s with no AC on many summer road trips and it sucked balls to sit in a pool of sweat. for everyday driving its fine.

Btw, r12 > r134a. Its a thicker gas and blows snow out the vents. Its hard to find, but its out there... ;)

looks like my late model had r134a from the factory, so hopefully the $30 recharge kit will solve this issue and put me in the 'no shweaty balls' category

I used "Freeze 12" as an R12 substitute on my Camry before it was legal to sell refrigerant at parts stores (Amazon wouldnt allow shipping to WI, I ended up getting some from out of state)  That was 3 years ago. It still works extremely well. You should have great results with it as long as you do it right.
