Burn out the rear bushings, I thought I would try to be smart and push them out and that was the worst mistake I ever made.

Torch em, let em burn then whack them with a good ol flat head and hammer!

Applying a torch flame at the center sleeve of the RTAB for a minute or two will allow the rubber around the sleeve to melt to the point where you can push the sleeve out with a screwdriver. Then its just a matter of pulling the rubber portion out with pliers. Takes < 2-3 minutes per bushing and causes for less cleanup and less risk of changing the heat-treating of the metal.

So yes, burning them out, but there are subtle details like I mentioned above which make it a bit quicker cleaner and easier on the metal. +

Hell yeah. Just don't let your car catch on fire.

Ask Chris how pulling the rear subframe outta the parts car E28 went. Even with the diesel truck we couldn't get that bitch out. So I think it's safe to say, mine might get burned out, while on the car.

Are the subframes on e28's set up like e30's?

I am almost scared to ask, but how did you use his truck to help?

not a fucking clue. I'd assume their relatively the same.

We uh. undid all the bolts, hooked up a tow rope to it, and uh. Diesel power took over. Still didn't budge.

Well if its anything like an e30 you can't pull it back, it has to drop down first.

                  I always use a 7/8" lag and a 5lb sledge!

Car was on it's side.. Obviously it's gotta get pulled towards the bottom of the car. Lol.

I have a spare subframe sitting is Zachs garage that I need to grab once the diff and trailing arms are off. I definitely plan to burn them out. I also think I might send out my trailing arms to have them made adjustable. Anyone want to buy my wastegate still? Lol

You people and your oversized turbos;) lol I was going to run my custom built TD06SL2-17c on my 2.6l in the conquest. Would have been quite the power house for how "small" people would think that turbo is.

Here is something compact related. So this morning, I was thinking why BMW made the e46 compact so ugly. I then got the idea to photoshop prefacelift headlights in. I never saw anyone do it, but it looks a million times better. I would seriously have bought one if they were offered in the US.
